Tubelight Teaser Response

The teaser of Salman Khan’s Tubelight was released a couple of days ago. It was aired for the television audience across the Star TV network and for the internet audience on YouTube.

The response has been mixed and it’s probably the weakest teaser of a Salman Khan film in a long time.

Teasers of event films are released to generate ’instant craze’, which teasers of films like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Sultan’ did get, but ‘Tubelight’ hasn’t. Even the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ teaser had those commercial ingredients – India/Pakistan, Bajrang Bali ka bhakt, Action, Romance/Kareena and Nawazuddin for those lighter moments. ‘Tubelight’ lacks almost all of it and relies almost entirely on Salman.

This has left a section of the industry and trade wondering why a teaser was required in the first place – when it didn’t have action or those massy-elements that instantly generates hype around a film.

It could well be because the makers needed more time to get the trailer right and with less 2 months to go for the theatrical release, they wanted to put something out there for the fans and the audience.

The film has also been severely criticised across social and mainstream media for its similarities with the Hollywood film ‘Little Boy’ – even though the makers have officially credited it with ‘Story Based on the Original Film – Little Boy’ in the teaser itself.

Moving on to the more positive side of things, the response to the teaser simply does not matter. Salman Khan is too big at the moment and his films will be watched. Irrespective of the kind of response the teaser gets, audience are now saving money to watch his films during Eid.

Secondly, the mixed response to the teaser also means the makers have the opportunity to put all the negativity (Little Boy, etc) aside by the time the trailer releases in the last week of May.

And finally, the best part of the teaser seems to be Salman himself. The innocence of his character has generated curiosity and it’s not the usual Salman that we get to see during Eid.

  • WHY again??? it’s totally inspired from movie little boy which was based on world war 2…Bring something new!!!

  • I have seen little boy and nowhere under the indian sun is it anywhere close to tubelight. OMG you people are the worst on this planet you are judging a 1.30 sec teaser as if you have seen the movie, this only goes to show not only are you guys downright stupid but to display such nastu attitudes towards something in such a judgemental manner certainly leaves much to be desireds. Don”t you know how irresponsible this is. Never assume anything because when you do you make an ass out of u and me. Go watch little boy and when you watch then make a comparison you dumb morons.

  • Ha ha ha Day by day indicine becoming funny websites … Tubelight teaser and audience response, likes, views creating and breaking all the possible records and here the only website giving wrong info.. LOL..

  • Honestly, I loved the teaser and I liked Salman only in AAA, Tere Naam, Garv, Jaaneman & Sultan.
I think I will like Tubelight as well.

  • @Yousaf : We are not blind fanatics like you to chant ‘king will rule’ with every upcoming Srk fans & calling ‘disaster’ & ‘flop’ for every Salman movie. Ultimately you srk fans will lick back your own spit, this has been happening on every Eid since Kick !!!!!!!!

Stop bring a moron, I never said teaser is bad or dull, I just highlighted it is foolish to expect an action packed teaser for a movie like Tubelight !!!! Idiot

  • @Samy : None of these movie broke any opening records but yes openings were decent enough. That is because Srk & HR have dedicated fan following which will certainly watch movies on first 3 days but what happened after it ?? phusssss !!!!!

  • At first, your article proves that someone has been lobbying you aside. By attacking Salman Khan, you may have increased website views & TRP but thats your policy.
Coming over to your & other fans of dumb supestar allegations combined,
    1. Your team published that its been the weakest teaser which has broken the records of likes/views! Kudos!
    2. You guys still dragging films to old commercial where Bahubali 2 makes a tectonic shift from commercial to arts film.
    3. In this film, Salman plays a guy who is mentally challenged & understands things lately. Many fans of other dumb stars accused that such role doesnt suit Salman. But in Tere Naam, that mentally challenged role was still in remembrance of all people. Yes, in Kyun ki, Salman played a mental person & it has bombed at the box office. Remember this time, he does play mentally challenged person with an aura of innocence. But its an era of experimental cinema, so my hearty congrats to Salman.
    4. You missed out that this film is based on Sino-India which is much conflicting issue in today’s time. Thus, it explored the Sino-India war which has never been popularized in Bollywood films except the few films
    5. Some fans of Dumb superstars accused that new heroine & Sohail Khan are unlucky. Well, Salman & Kareena past Bodyguard & Bajrangi, All films have flopped at the B.O. You cannot predict anything, the story is the new King! Zhu Zhu had a fan base in Chinese territory & demand in the film which shall pull over audience to the cinema halls.
    6. Many people draw comparisons to Little Boy & Tubelight. Yes, there are similarities since it has been officially adapted but it has been experimented. Just like Mahatma Gandhi entry scene, Is there any such scene in Little boy? Salman may have the same mannerism is absurd, but his posture is same! Then there was a Japanese old guy, now this time he had Martin as a young Chinese & their bonding is true core to the story. The character & scenes has been interchanged. Kabir would mould his story into geo political along with human values.
    7. Remember music maestro Pritam’s fingers is on Tubelight music! and action has been helmed under foreign action director! Even Bajrangi has 10 minutes of action which is merely a situational!

Salman fans, Dont worry for all the accusations! Salman will rock!

    • @Shahin Yusuf, saying the teaser has received a mixed response isn’t attacking an actor. Read our older article on Salman. We’ll always have balanced articles here and most will reflect the ‘real’ trade opinion.. not the fake praises on social media.
