The teaser of Salman Khan’s Tubelight was released a couple of days ago. It was aired for the television audience across the Star TV network and for the internet audience on YouTube.
The response has been mixed and it’s probably the weakest teaser of a Salman Khan film in a long time.
Teasers of event films are released to generate ’instant craze’, which teasers of films like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Sultan’ did get, but ‘Tubelight’ hasn’t. Even the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ teaser had those commercial ingredients – India/Pakistan, Bajrang Bali ka bhakt, Action, Romance/Kareena and Nawazuddin for those lighter moments. ‘Tubelight’ lacks almost all of it and relies almost entirely on Salman.
This has left a section of the industry and trade wondering why a teaser was required in the first place – when it didn’t have action or those massy-elements that instantly generates hype around a film.
It could well be because the makers needed more time to get the trailer right and with less 2 months to go for the theatrical release, they wanted to put something out there for the fans and the audience.
The film has also been severely criticised across social and mainstream media for its similarities with the Hollywood film ‘Little Boy’ – even though the makers have officially credited it with ‘Story Based on the Original Film – Little Boy’ in the teaser itself.
Moving on to the more positive side of things, the response to the teaser simply does not matter. Salman Khan is too big at the moment and his films will be watched. Irrespective of the kind of response the teaser gets, audience are now saving money to watch his films during Eid.
Secondly, the mixed response to the teaser also means the makers have the opportunity to put all the negativity (Little Boy, etc) aside by the time the trailer releases in the last week of May.
And finally, the best part of the teaser seems to be Salman himself. The innocence of his character has generated curiosity and it’s not the usual Salman that we get to see during Eid.

All those movies u mentioned (Bang Bang, Raees) had outstanding opening. That is the use of trailer. Those positive response dont go in vain, they back openings. Then the content does the job. So Raees, Bang bang getting god response for their trailers didnt go in waste. It helped a lot in opening.

Whatever negative articles are coming from scoopwhoop or storypick or indicine are coming, seeding of positive comments have to happen.
On conversations of little boy, ask them to seed in saying something like — atleast the movie has given due credit unlike others.. paste screenshot of the credit slate etc.
For indicine article, comments like what response you are talking about when actually the teaser has broken all records in terms of views and likes on the video etc.

Coming to little boy story when I asked couple of my friends nobody’s have seen this movie and will be added advantage to Tubelight.
Tubelight will the best life time performance of Salman khan and indicine mind it you will say this after release. No doubt it’s a 300 crs movie but I want it to break record of dangal

The Indian government should take back and seal and confiscate all the black money and properties of bhaiyyuu jaan..bhai should have the same status which he had before 1989…he is not worthy to get so much money and facilities in india. And then he has always commented against indian people like sonu nigam.. I hope tat fuselight wrap up below 150 crores. .
Teaser / trialer response doesn’t matter. Neutral audience as well his crazed fans lap his movies with open arms even though most of them are garbage. His golden run shall continue..

Copied!!! If it was really copied, maker wd hab never given credit to that film which kabir khan honestly gave. It is adapted not copied from little boy. Just for bashing the film all r spreading negativity. Masala action films r not working anymore, audiences want different films with content even the action required has to hab high octane scene n scale like bahubali. Credit to Salman khan for choosing such films.

Websites like indicine are far removed from reality and hence couldnt gauge the impact of Bahubali and now have no idea of Tubelight …. Old boy, new boy, small boy , little boy aint a freaking concern ….. action and stupid movies of Salman though opened big could take him as much … it is the socially relevant Salman films that have been real blockbusters ….its not the fans but apart from fans that can take a movie beyond 300crs and Tubelight will shine all the way thru
it’s not an official remake, unlike dumbasses say. It’s an official adaptation, which means they have taken ideas and storyline to an extent from that movie with a completely different screenplay. “Based on…..” implies adaptation.
Had others been in Salman’s shoes, they would have done it without buying copyrights and giving due credits to the original film.
And yes, the kind of efforts Salman has put in the movie is pretty obvious in the teaser. It will flawless performance from Salman after BB and Sultan!!!
