Top 10 Hindi Songs: November 2013

Top 10 Hindi Songs – November 2013

1. Nagada Sang Dhol (Ram Leela) : There’s a saying in Cricket – ‘Form is Temporary, Class is Permanent’. Even though Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s last 2 movies – ‘Guzaarish’ and ‘Saawariya’ – didn’t set the box office on fire, he remains one of the most talented filmmaker of this generation. His cinematic brilliance and taste of music is evident in the diverse soundtrack of Ram Leela. ‘Nagada Sang Dhol’ is reminiscent of the infamous ‘Dholi Taaro’ from Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. After ‘Aashiqui 2’, Ram Leela is yet another treat for music lovers in 2013.

2. Tooh (Gori Tere Pyaar Mein) : Vishal-Shekhar provided some good tracks for Karan Johar & Punit Malhotra’s ‘I Hate Love Storys’ and now they are back yet again topping the charts with ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’. Mika is having the time of his life as he is getting to sing all the club dancing numbers. He is ably supported by Mamta Sharma of ‘Munni’ fame. We also like Dhat Teri Ki and Chingam Chabake from the same album.

3. Party All Night (Boss) : Although Boss failed to make a mark at the ticket window, the music is still rocking the popularity charts. After success of his songs in Cocktail, Son Of Sardaar, Khiladi 786 and Chennai Express, Honey Singh is again in top form with his naughty yet hummable rapping. The lovely dance inducing hip-hop rhythm coupled with some very identifiable lyrics makes this a sure shot hit.

4. Dil Tu Hi Bata (Krrish 3) : Roshans are on Cloud nine as Krrish 3 is making waves with its stupendous success. Although the music of the film was criticized when the soundtrack was out, it is picking up with after release of the movie. Alisha Chinai and Zubeen have provided magical vocals in this song picturized on Hrithik & Kangana at stunning locales.

5. Lungi Dance (Chennai Express) : Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Lungi Dance is still rocking the charts everywhere. The film’s unimaginable box-office run has given a further boost to the already popular music album. The song’s highlight is its unique lyrics like ‘Ghar mei jaake tum google karlo, mere baare mei wikipedia pe padhlo’.

6. Gulabi (Shuddh Desi Romance) : This fabulous song ‘Gulabi’ from Shuddh Desi Romance is based on and picturized on the beautiful Pink City of India – Jaipur. The duo of Sachin-Jigar have finally made it big with the musical succcess of this YRF production. Some of their compositions were noteworthy in F.A.L.T.U , ABCD, Oh.. My God , Go Goa Gone and Ramaiya Vastavaiya.

7. Gandi Baat (R Rajkumar) : Pritam is enjoying a great year with ‘Race 2′ and blockbuster’Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. Although his last 2 albums PPNH and OUATIMD did not create much impact, Pritam has his kitty full. Prabhudeva’s ‘R..Rajkumar’ will be followed by Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’. Gandi Baat has been energetically sung by Item song King Mika Singh.

8. Tamanche Pe Disco (Bullett Raja) : After a long time, we get to hear the vocals of RDB in his composition from Bullet Raja. The chorus is foot-tapping and it has the potential to be the new club song, with its bhangra beats and sassy lyrics.

9. Tum Hi Ho (Aashiqui 2) : Tum Hi Ho’ is unaffected by the continous inflow of new music albums and is rock steady in the list for the past 8 months. Without an iota of doubt, Aashiqui 2 is the best music album of 2013 till now. As both the movies comprise of two of the best soundtracks of Indian Cinema, Music lovers are eagerly waiting for the third instalment of this franchise.

10. Ram Chahe Leela (Ram Leela) : Priyanka is looking drop dead gorgeous in the title item song of Ram Leela. The music is growing on the listeners as the release date is coming near. Flavour of Bhansali’s direction is quite evident in the visuals of each and every song.

  • Great choices, although I’d have also added ‘Har Kisi Ko’ (Boss), and ‘Saree Ke Faal Sa’ (R..Rajkumar) in place of ‘Tamanche Pe Disco’ and ‘Gulabi’.

@Babaji – I think Arijit Singh deserves it this time more than anyone else for his ‘Tum Hi Ho’, it was liked by almost all type of people, and is one of the best songs of the year. I was disappointed last year when Sonu Nigam didn’t get the Filmfare award, lets hope they will do the right thing this year.

@Sanjay – Ram-Leela has some good tracks, but we have listed better albums. I think Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’s album is 2nd after Aashiqui 2, many of it’s songs became chartbusters upon it’s release.
