At the peak of his career, Akshay’s Singh Is King collected around 7.5 crore (1350 screens) on its opening day, which is probably equivalent to 25 crore or more today!

Its hard to believe Holiday opened lower than Boss, TMK and Houseful 2. Akshay is a very talented actor, has always been, but he seriously needs to think about his selection of scripts.
I remember he said producers come with poor scripts, so he has to sign them for money. But, he’s already one of the richest celebrities today, pride and respect are also as important as money. Its not like he hasn’t made enough money already, also if he does signs good scripts, then its bound to be successful one way or other.
Akshay is very talented and I want to see that talent being used properly, that’s why I wrote it.
Tees maar khan was one of the worst movie have ever produced by bollywood.
i hope fans of other actors don’t create negativity here about akshay. he may be going through a rough patch but its because he is doing overdose of films, if he does 1 or 2 film every year and good ones, then he will bounce back again. don’t wory akshay fans, the reports of holiday is far better than tees maar khan,boss etc so it will definitely do much more business than them. all the best to akshay and holiday team.
AKSHAY was at peak during 2007-2008, he again got his game in 2012 with Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore but choices of bad scripts affected him. holiday is a great movie but because of those movies , it affected holiday also. i am against the notion of akshay to do so many films per year. he should do max. 2 movies a year.
Akshay Kumar is the biggest supertar ever if u exclude SRK, Aamir, Salman, Hrithik, Ranbhir, Deepika, Ranveer singh and Arjun Kapoor. If these stars are not born then the King of bollywood title would definitely go to our Khiladi 11.6 crs. Hope next time when Akshay decide to make Khiladi then name shud be kept as Khiladi 11.6

Reasons for low opening are pretty simple..
After giving us great movies like HF2, RR, OMG, S26..Akki lost it big time with craps like K786, OUTIMD, Boss..this is the reason why people lost faith in Akshay!!!
Also compared to Khans, HR or even RK..Akki movies doesn’t generate the same kind of curiosity like the above mentioned actors!!!
One more reason was that this movie wasn’t promoted well enough!!! Music can’t be blamed as it was better than Jai Ho, K3 and D3..
Also the biggest of all..Overexposure of Akki movies..Akki should come with only 2 movies per year..this will also prevent overexposure and might fetch good openings in the future.. :)
Also I hope Holiday becomes like NM which also didn’t get a great opening but still went on to be a big hit!!! :)

Singh is King and Rowdy was Akshay’s best marketed films. Uniquely named, superb music and top actress during their rise to stardom.
All this is missing here. The moment I saw Its Entertainment trailer, I felt why not that movie releasing now? Its being marketed a lot better.
