In an interview with Hindustan Times, Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has said he has spoken to Shah Rukh Khan about the box office clash between Raees and Kaabil.
Roshan said he told the actor that both films are not going to gain from the clash and added that he has no ego issues. It’s superstition, he said, that’s stopping him from changing the release date of his film.
“We have met a couple of times. I have told him that nobody is going to gain out of this clash. I have also explained to him that I can’t shift my film’s release date, as I am a little superstitious. I would have changed the date had I not announced the film. I don’t have an ego.”
Roshan added that announcing a film after knowing that there is another film scheduled to arrive on the same day is ‘unethical’.
“I had announced my film in February last year. A sudden announcement about the release of another movie is a little unethical. However, I can’t stop any film from releasing on the same day” Roshan said.
Pls Rakesh sir and excel sit down and sort this out.
I am repeating clash will be suicidal both for HR and SRK.
Anyone release his films whenever he wants.there is no policy of 1st comes 1st.Raees was 1st film scheduled to release on Eid 2016,then why Sultan came in between ?

They’ve already announced a fake clash (Dwarf vs Krrish 4) and denied it, and Rakesh keeps crying that this clash will not be beneficial. If you’re not so confident about your film then don’t release it !!

Milan luthiana directed Badshao earlier announced in 26th Jan 2017 before Rakesh Roshen announce kaabil. But the sudden announcement of Raees roshen stats playing mind game if Raees wasn’t moved from eid still kaabil will not release solo
I completely agree with Rakesh Roshan . Kaabil was announced first to release on 26th Jan 2017 so they have every right to stick to their plans . As far as Raees I still feel Raees getting postponed from Eid was not a right decision in my opinion . Also they delayed the release by 6 months which has reduced the buzz drastically . If Kaabil is postponed than the buzz will decrease automatically . Currently the clash is on as no one is ready to avert the clash . Another clash on Non Holiday between 2 big movies is happening after Rustom and MD . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aftr the failure of fan at Box office and an average performance from dilwale .. SRK is eyeing a comeback with Raees so it isn’t a smart step to do the clash cause Hrithik too is geared up to have a comeback . Nd the inclusion of Mahira khan in the movie which is a ploy that’s against SRK . Raees should be postponed a bit .

I think clash will affect both business. Before I wanted watching Raees 1st but now confirm am opting for Kaabil. I have higher expectations for Kaabil.
Both will incur losses…saving grace for any of d movie to dominate will obviously be Story content…and from what I heard about Kaabil story I am quite excited about it….1st choice Kaabil 2nd choice with good reviews …Raees.

Producer of Baadshaho has himself said that RakeshJi had a meeting with him and had discussion regarding the date, which came to fruition that Baadshaho wouldn’t be ready by Jan 26th, so they moved out. One should do research before posting.
During Rustom vs MohenjoDaro they said if movies are good then they will definetly work at the BO….. now raees vs kaabil they are saying both movies will be affected due to clash….

Shahrukh did it because of Adi chopra… From what i believe is srk can never clash wid karan n adi as both are like brothers to him.he moved away because of yash raj films not because of salman n his dominance on eid… Remember he came on one eid and all records were shattered. Yeah salman might have defeated him in opening as currently he is the only one who has edge over srk but ultimately content decides if a movie is to succeed…n who knows raees might have been better than sultan
