Terming his team Kolkata Knight Riders’ smashing victory over Delhi Daredevils “wonderful”, an exuberant Shahrukh Khan felt elated to “return back” to the “city of joy” for the opening match of the sixth edition of Indian Premier League.
“Yea it’s wonderful the whole team has fared. They are all here and they have been looking forward to carrying on from where they left off.
“What makes me even happier is that we had the opening ceremony here and the city which has been so kind to us for so many years, we could return back what we are best at, which is entertainment,” Khan told a TV channel at the end of the match between defending champions KKR and Delhi Daredevils at Eden Gardens here Wednesday.
Khan and Bollywood’s leading ladies Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif had enthralled over 50,000 spectators at a glitzy IPL-6 inaugural ceremony at Kolkata’s Salt Lake stadium Tuesday.
The superstar celebrated KKR’s emphatic six-wicket win over a depleted Delhi Daredevils with a victory lap with Padukone in tow, around the Eden Gardens arena.
“I get so much happiness and love from the city of joy, to be honest. I have experienced lot of goodness and niceness in life but what I get in Kolkata, KKR gets in Kolkata, all our friends, my children, our family, the whole KKR team -we feel so happy. I think we owe it to the city that we share some joy some energy whatever little in our small way we do,” Khan said.
People don’t go to watch films which are decent.
Just because people wear Armani suits, run around Alps and make expensive VFX, is not reason why people watch movie?
The only reason people watch movie is for Entertainment.
As to clean films – yes, we all saw in children’s film Ra.One how a gay scene was enacted by SRK. He should be ashamed of going with the scene, as the film was targeted for kids and this is what he is promoting?

@hritik please read carefully what I said. I put data for comparison on the base of last 10 year. And the one u mentioned srks desastrous that is only countable on fingertips. The desastrous srk has given in 21 years is lesser than Sallus desastrous in past 10 years. I ll not go back and add his dud movies from 90s right from love to janam samza karo. Today Sallu is only bcos of remake masala movie put him again in London dream or janeman result wud b again flop. In contrast put srk in any movie whether like rabne mink ra1 chakhde oso don or jthj and result wud be either blockbuster or super hit or minimum hit. Here I m not discussing about overseas.
What is highest collection of SRK film?
@sht : yes, u wud talk about the period which have advantage srk. In that case lets take only last years movies, ETT was not a masala neither a remake. Dabangg n D2 was not remake either though pure masala entertainment. I will only consider srk above salman if he atleast give 3 consecutive Blockbusters compare to salman’s 5. Let srk choose whichever genre he wants still he cant reach there. Last but not least I have been Salman’s fan since Saajan days not since HAHK or Tere Naam or Wanted or Dabangg unlike srk fans since Mohabbatein or DDLJ days.
@hritk I think u r watching Bollywood post dabang. Srk has given 3 back to back blockbuster chakhde, oso and rabne bana di Jodi in three different genre. During that period salman only had partner superhit nd dozen of flop nd desastrous like yuvraj, london dreams gtgh marigold veer Babool Salam e ishq etc. look at srks bad phase ra1 hit India superhit overseas, mink hit India atbb overseas, don2 hit in India bb in overseas, jthj hit in India and bb in overseas. And wait for ce.
@hritik whichever period u take srk is always on center stage. from 1993 to 2013. In every debate u nd me or any third brings srk in discussion. People will never compare betn Amir nd salman who used to b no. 1 star after 3 idiots. Logically comparison shud b betn Amir and salman but post bodyguard success salman fan started comparing him with srk instead of Amir. It proved Amir was never no.1 if tomorrow ranbeer gives 3 bb then u will find people r making comparison betn srk nd ranbeer and Sallu wud be sidelined like Amir
@Sht : I can only smile or laugh on it. If you want to remain in past then sorry bro I cant help it. Currently Salman is leading in terms of Box Office India and in Bollywood. Whether you agree or not that is the truth. Forget Ranbir let srk give 3 consecutive Blockbusters then when can talk.
