The Jungle Book is on a phenomenal run at the India box office, as the trend during the weekdays is beyond fantastic. The film is carrying better word-of-mouth than all other films released in 2016. In fact, the Hollywood film is performing well at smaller centres too, where even the biggest Hindi success of the year – Airlift – did not perform very well.
No other Hindi dubbed film, except Baahubali, has performed as well as ‘The Jungle Book’ and no other Hollywood film has sustained so well either. The business of the film has shown a big jump of more than 10% on Wednesday, which is a sign that the film will not only get plenty of shows in its second weekend, but hold strongly inspite of a massive Hindi film releasing in theatres.
With ‘The Jungle Book’ performing so well, word-of-mouth has become even more important for Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN. The film is set for a good opening on Friday, but ‘The Jungle Book’ has the potential to eat into its business on Saturday and Sunday if the word-of-mouth of FAN isn’t positive.
Unlike more commercial films featuring SRK in the lead, FAN has limited appeal at single-screens and mass-centres, so business at cities, especially at metros, will be crucial if the film has perform.

The box office returns are important for a movie.
But with this movie my wish always has been that the people coming out of the theatres say that SRKs performance is one of the best they have ever seen and the character of Gaurav Chandana becomes even more iconic than SRKs role of Bazigar and Darr.
Haven’t felt “connected” to any movie or character (Gaurav Chandana) like this as far as I remember. So hoping and praying that the long wait for this movie proves to be worth it.
Watched Jungle Book 2 times in theatre, once in English and once in Hindi. It is really a cinematic gem. I has great visuals and 3D, great voiceovers in both versions especially Baloo(Irrfan Khan) speaking in Punjabi in the Hindi version.Neel Sethi was just fantastic as Mowgli. You will laugh a lot in the Hindi version.The screenplay deeply immenses you in the world of Mowgli and the Seonee jungle.It is a movie not to be missed. Have booked tickets for FAN for 12:35pm show tommorow.

Mind Blowing response and realy it deserve that. But This is danger sign for bollywood. Now major part Indian audiance forwarding towards content rich movies that is highly lacks in bollywood movies nowdays. Except Airlift and neerja almost remaining all movies released this year just waste nothing else. Bollywood needs to improve the scale of production thats what people wants to watch in theatre by spending their valuable money. e.g.. Baahubali. Otherwise that day will be no longer when hollywood movies aquires the major chunk Indian box office.

I had been to PVR (Orion, Bangalore) to watch Ki & Ka today believe me being Thursday n a working day and its 3rd week the auditorium was 95% full. For jungle book people are returning disappointed from ticket counters for not getting tickets. I guess summer vacations is turning to be a good releasing period. With Jungle Book hot on box office FAN needs extra ordinary wom to be a huge hit. I reckon it will do 110 crs minimum but FAN gotta tough competition in Jungle Book !!!!!!!!!!
