The Jungle Book is on a record-breaking run in India. The Hollywood film has become only the second 100 crore grosser of 2016, after a big Hindi film like Akshay Kumar’s Airlift.
The trend of the film is so incredible that it has every chance of collections 140-150 crore by the end of its run in India.
In the first weekend, the English version of ‘The Jungle Book’ was performing better than the Hindi version. But after the weekend, it was the Hindi version that has started performing better than the original in English.
The 10th day collections of ‘The Jungle Book’ was also higher than the opening day collections of the film.

Jungle book belongs to india…in 90s we all used to watch…movie, graphics and acting of mowgli is very good…I watched this movie twice…Fan is bakwass movie though srks acting is good but when u talk about acting Ajay sir is top…watch ajay sir in Deewangee..zakhm…legend of bhagat singh…once upon a time in india…hum dil De chuke sanam and many more…movies run because of content…only actor who doesnt need content to run a movie is megastar Salman khan..his sheer presence is enough to make a movie blockbuster

Jungle Book is an old classic with it’s roots in India; the 1990s TV serial too helped big time on nostalgia value. Onward to 150 Cr for Jungle Book.
Friends debating on 100 Cr Hollywood movies, pls be informed that this is the first one to hit 100 Cr nett in India. There have been a few more like FF7 which have hit 100 Cr gross in India. Hollywood always calculates by gross (ticket sales) whereas India calculates on nett (collections minus taxes) leaving greater scope for manipulation.

Shahrukh Khan starrer ”Fan” released yesterday and it got wide release in India across 3500 screens and across 1100 screens in overseas. Film is not typical Bollywood film as it has no songs and no distinct romantic track or actress. Despite zilch appeal among masses, film managed good weekend worldwide.
Film opened to solid numbers of 45% in metros and mass centers were low which was expected for such film. Film collected 19.20 cr nett on day one which was good number. Day 2 got the movie 15.40 cr as holiday benefit of Friday was not there. Film managed to cross 19.30 cr nett on Sunday.
Film has weekend total of 53.90 cr nett which is highest in 2016 beating 45 cr nett of ”Airlift”. Overseas the movie earned 2.7 million $ (17.93 cr) on opening day and huge 6.5 million $ (43.50 cr) over weekend. Film has crossed 110 cr gross worldwide and no matter what happens at domestic box office, brand SRK continues to shine bright in overseas.

If you look at these advantages this movie(TJB) is disaster in India even bigger disaster then Maharashtra drought
In other side Fan have none of those advantages still it is on the path of crossing 100cr this show the star power of global star SRK.

yesterday I went to a multiplex for jungle book 3D for 2.45pm show.the show was housfull.I didn’t get ticket .not even in black.when I reached there a man was buying 2 tickets of 140 rupees per each at 700 rupees.. I felt very sory for not getting ticket..may be I will go Wednesday/Thursday again..
i saw a couple also came for jungle book but didn’t get tickets
then they bought Fan tickets for next show.after some time they came back to ticket counter to return those tickets..

Meanwhile the Monday morning show occupancy of FAN is came out and it opens with 20% occupancy all over India, and if it did not pickup much in Noon and Evening shows then the collection of Monday will be 5-6cr

Some over the top actor needs a national holiday, songs, top production house n Content Rich story but still he wont be able to collect 100cr…!
Some srk fans said that fan was releasing on Non Holiday… but weekend collection is speaking different thing hahahahaha… 1st day 19+, 2nd 15+ n 3rd day 17+ which means fan would have collected only 13+ crs if it was released on Non Holiday…

Critically acclaimed film of SRK is finding it difficult to touch even 100 cr. Blaming it on Jungle Book,lack of Songs and absence of Deepika ( heroine).
Critically acclaimed film of Salman did 300 cr plus nett and made it into overseas top 3. And it was another 600cr grosser Bahubali giving that simple film a tough fight.Bahubali Hindi version did cross 100 cr. In South Bahubali mania costed Bajrangi Bhaijaan at least 10-20 cr. Even in Overseas Bahubali was a big pull . No one complained..
This is the curse of Karnataka and Kerala fans for not releasing the Jabra Fan in their languages.
Anyways FAN was an average movie which is saved by SRK’s acting, whereas Jungle Book was a great movie.
