The Jungle Book is on a record-breaking run in India. The Hollywood film has become only the second 100 crore grosser of 2016, after a big Hindi film like Akshay Kumar’s Airlift.
The trend of the film is so incredible that it has every chance of collections 140-150 crore by the end of its run in India.
In the first weekend, the English version of ‘The Jungle Book’ was performing better than the Hindi version. But after the weekend, it was the Hindi version that has started performing better than the original in English.
The 10th day collections of ‘The Jungle Book’ was also higher than the opening day collections of the film.

No song (Except one promotional like FAN), no heroine, no promotions, non holiday release, lower ticket prices and there is no superstar either.
Yet Jungle Book will be first or second highest grosser of 2016 and collect atleast 20-30 crore more than duniya ke sabse bade superstar ka film.
The biggest plus for this film was Hindi dubbed version is extraordinary. When you compare with other Hollywood blockbusters it scores coz its better to watch when bagheera, baloo and Kaa speak in Hindi than say Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck

It clearly shows that a thing like star power can give you a buffer at most 10cr in the starting of the movie. after that only content matters rest all is bullshit. Jungle book beating India’s self proclaimed super star is an eye opener for the coming actors that Hollywood is coming in a big way in India and they will have to clear dates for their release. Next would be captain america storming Indian theatres and it also have every chance of scoring than 100cr.

Fan teaser was released with so much buzz on SRK’s birthday. Even the Jabra Fan song was released in all versions.
And the promos were pretty much frequent on TV.
Indicine promoted Fan so vigorously on this website since the day it was announced .
