Shahid and Priyanka’s latest release Teri Meri Kahaani has failed to make any impact at the box-office. After a slow start on it’s opening day, business stagnated without any major growth on Saturday and Sunday.
The word-of-mouth is mixed and with the release of ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ this week, the Kunal Kohli directed film will have limited screen-space at multiplexes. The film should end it’s run with lifetime business of less than 35 crores, which is the ‘worst case scenario’ according to the prediction that we made before release.
While Shahid Kapoor’s performance has been praised by one and all, his poor box-office run continues after the Mausam debacle. Infact, the collections of Teri Meri Kahaani are lower than Mausam!

Aur TMK se ummid hi kya thi ghisi piti old story written by vivek oberai vivek oberai ke khud ke career ka toh pata nahi aur story likh raha hain vivek tu toh accha actor ban na saka toh story kya khak likhega acchi reham kar yaar.

First of all movies do not work just because of stars or actors. it’s a big misconception. By giving all the credit of hit film to only one star is unfair to whole unit of movie including director. At the same time blaming failure only on one actor/star even though they acted fantastically is also unfair. in that case why ‘Main Aurr Mrs Khanna’ or ‘London Dreams’ failed at box office. they both were Salman films. Also these both films were released after success of ‘Wanted’ then why these failed? If he is such a powerful star they why these films did not work at BO.
So please be sensible and learn to give credit to directors and technicians, music directors too. These people contribute a lot to film’s success. If Salman’s tries anything different than masala film it is going to fail because people now enjoy him in only particular image. same thing with SRK, he is always doing films with YRF and Dharma productions. In 20 -25 years of their career both of these Khan’s have rarely experimented. so remember this startdom has lot to do with carrying your image all the time. as soon as you go away from your image people do not accept you.
With Shahid, people liked him in romantic flicks like Vivah, JWM, KIKO but after Kaminey people want to see him in dark and edgy role and even his fans and he did exactly opposite by doing ‘Mausam’ and ‘TMK’. Failure of Mausam is not Shahid but Pankaj Kapoor as a director and editor and producer should be held responsible for it. Shahid did his job fantastically. If Mausam could have tightly edited, it would have worked 100% at the box office. It has all the elements to it. Editing of the movies was very weak and recently Shahid said they did not time and no choice but to release movie without reviewing it.
Today Shahid is carrying whole brunt of Mausam failure which is so so unfair. TMK on the other hand he signed before Mausam release so he had no choice but complete it also film’ concept was new and Shahid’s acting is flawless. no one can deny that. Screen play of the movie was very weak. Also some how Kunal could not link 3 stories effectively and convince audiences what he is trying to say. If it could have just 1910 story movies, it could have been hit.
‘Main Aurr Mrs Khanna”s budget was 40 cr. and at BO it earned only 9.5 cr. today no one is talking about it.
Shahid Kapoor is one of the most talented actors we have today, no matter success and failure of the films. He has given us some of the memorable and fantastic movies and performances. He is a phenomenal dancer, he is very good looking and has going charming personality. No one can take away what he possess. He just need some luck, he is going through rough patch. He will come back. He is in the industry for 9 yrs. and debuted very young with ‘Ishq Vishq’ has faced success and failure and yet was able to survive in midst of all Khans, Kumars etc. He has alredy made is mark on his own. Today you can not deny Shahid Kapoor’s existence no matter you hate him or you love him. When you come here and post all the bad things about him, right there you proved that you can not ignore him. For me when that person is not existed means I neither love or hate. that person is nobody to me. But when few people who criticize him so much they have already accepted his existence and importance in this industry. Some people hate him because they are Kareena’s fans. Some hate him because they are SRKs fans some hate because they are Salman’s fans or may be Ranbir’s fans. Why? I am obviously Shahid fan but if some I watch good movies of Ranbir too and I like him. so please be fair and comment only based on performances. I am not a Ranbir fan but I like his acting and I can not deny him and do not find any shame in accepting it too. I see many SRK fans are Shahid’s fans too and same thing goes with Salman’s fans and same with Ranbir’s fans. But there are few SRK fans who keep on saying he is copying SRK and bla bla, and I absolutely do not agree with these people. people who keep saying this are haters and that’s it. They just do not want to accept that Shahid is a good actor and sometimes even better than SRK.
