‘Team Akshay’ shatter Guinness World Record for BOSS

In an effort to show their love and support for Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar, a bunch of die-hard fans of the actor built the World’s Largest Poster, beating the previous record held by Michael Jackson’s album ‘Michael’ by a mind-boggling 5670 square feet.

The group of fans, who now find a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records, run fan clubs of the actor on Twitter and Facebook under the name of ‘Team Akshay’.

The world largest poster took more than 7 months to build. There were a lot of ups and downs, but the biggest motivation for them was the unconditional love and support for Akshay Kumar. Fans who were responsible for this mega achievement were from different cities of India with different academic backgrounds. To break the barrier of distance, Team Akshay came up with a group on popular messaging app for all the planning and plotting that was required to find a mention in the Guinness Book of World records.

Mr. Shray from Team Akshay said “We are honoured and thrilled to break the world record and make our idol Akshay Kumar proud of his ace fan club Team Akshay, The only aim to be breaking the largest poster record was we always wanted the world to see our idol on a larger than life canvas just like his persona.”

“We would also like to thank our sponsor JKJ Jewelers for supporting the project and encouraging fandom at a new level.” he added.

The world’s largest poster dedicated to Akshay is for his upcoming film Boss which is produced by VIAMCOM 18 Motion Pictures, Cape Of Good Films and Ashwin Varde Productions. It measure a whopping 58.87 metres (193 feet 1 inch) wide and 54.94 metres (180 feet 2 inches) high.

It was achieved by Team Akshay (India) and unveiled at Little Gransden Airfield, Little Gransden, UK, on October 03, 2013. A UK based company was responsible for manufacturing the poster.

Reaction to the world record and clearly overwhelmed with the love and support of his fans, Akshay said “It’s a great feeling to be breaking a record formerly held by ‘The King of Pop’ Michael Jackson! I am grateful to my fans for this unique gesture which speaks volumes about their eternal love and support. God bless them all.”

“I thank everyone who made this possible.” he aded.

Ashwin Varde, the producer of BOSS, states that this achievement is a proud moment for all Indians “The earlier record was held by none other than Michael Jackson. The poster of BOSS has beaten that record. Every Indian should be proud of this achievement.”
