At a media gathering to celebrate his 71st birthday, Amitabh Bachchan paid his rich tribute to India’s iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who announced that he would retire from all forms of cricket after the West Indies series next month.
“When I heard about Sachin’s retirement, I felt the heart of India has stopped working for a while. But it also felt that the heart of Indian cricket stopped forever.”
“I don’t have words to praise him or express about him. He has been a phenomenal athlete, not just excelling himself in the game that he plays, but he has become a symbol of great excellence for the country”
“For him to retire from this is just unimaginable. We cannot imagine cricket will be the same without him. But we wish him all the very best. He has served the country for so many years and he has created so unbelievable a record that perhaps never ever will it be matched by any other individual”
Tendulkar will play his last two test matches against West Indies. The first test will be held between November 6th to 10th, while the second test – which also happens to be the 200th Test match of the legendary cricketer – will be held in his hometown between November 14 – 18.
No matter,how many indian cricketers come and go,sachin will be remembered as best forever.he define cricket in india.

I only watch cricket when Sachin plays, I literally switch off the Tv when he get out. Thanks Sachin for being form out for last year and half, if u would have retired 2 years ago then I would have been immensely sad. There was a time when I dont sleep when Sachin plays next day, can’t imagine cricket without Sachin. Srk and Sachin is my fav heroes, 1 gone and now have to adjust with Srk

@Damnnn bro. If Dravid is better player then how come Sachin has better avg that too with more no. of games?, how do u know Sachin only played for himself?. He get so tense when he reaches near to century, it shows on his face that’s why he take more balls during that time. Sachin is a legend and so many players came after him and gone before him and Dravid is one of them. Dravid is cool batman but Sachin is not that doesn’t mean Dravid is better player. Even Gavaskar has literaly bowed in front of Sachin. In short Gavaskar and Dravid is a great great players but Sachin is little better than them.
Number 10 jursy should also be retired now. Bcoz none deserve that except the master srt.

The only reason we watched Cricket was Sachin. People used to go back to work, switch of tvs and get in to their daily life after Sachin gets out.
In fact even though we craved for victory of India, a team that was filled with not so great talent, and everything on poor Sachin’s shoulders, we put so much pressure on him.
I don’t think anyone could have taken the burden, and his haters fail to realise this.
Now Dhoni has so many talented guys, that if one is down, the other is there to help.
Earlier, the moment Sachin got out, all others just folllowed him back to pavillion.
Only a true cricket fan, a sports fan or a person who has played real sports will know the magnanimity of it.

How many of innings have you seen of Sachin and Dravid?
I have seen almost every one of them, since the day he hit those 6s in Pak off Qadir.
Do you know the team composition when Sachin played and by the time Dravid came?
Do you know how many cricketing shots Sachin has in his batting armoury compared to Dravid?
I am not talking of 100s and 200s, number of matches etc., That is there for everyone to compare.
But, am talking about talent, the pressure in which one played, the quality of attack one played, the kind of approach a player had etc.,
If you compare all this, Dravid is just nowhere near Sachin by miles.
Stats are easy to compare, but the above can only be experienced, and all those experts in cricket when they talk about greatness, they take in to account the above qualities, and Sachin excelled than anyone that played cricket during his time in all these.

Despite playing 200 test none of his inning turn into match winner. Really shame. Dravid and Lakshman played more match winning inning. His highest score is 248 against Bangladesh he scored 6 double centuries against mediocre attack. Sachin is most overrated batsman he is bcos of Indian media and BCCI.

Sachin was done 3 yrs ago & should’ve retired when he as in his 160+ test range. Guy has overstayed above and beyond. A reason why I always respected Dravid for retiring on the right moment. Guys like Sachin & Ganguly hung around way too long destroying youngsters chances of making it to Team India.
@jc …dude u r being too rude on rahul dravid..he is another legend n two of them r not comparable…sachin was always much more talented but dravid is a symbol of hardwork and dedication…despite of not being that talented he managed to reach heights…better respect him for that…don’t u remember time of ganguly’s captaincy when sachin was completely out of form and it was dravid who excelled in difficult conditions in england,australia,south africa,newzealand and pakistan…don’t u remember even in odi’s he was the only one to stand till the end when no one was around…i agree with u that sachin is a greater player but saying that dravid is nowhere close to him is very rude…im a big fan of dravid…he achieved so much solely on the basis of his hardwork and dedication…bt we will miss sachin..the greatest cricketer in the history of the game…
