Tanu Weds Manu Returns is on a historic run at the box office. The Anand L Rai film is not competing with other films released in 2015, but with major grossers featuring some of the biggest names in the industry.
A fact that’s staggering to say the least – the 10th day collections of ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ is only about 5% lower than the first day business of ‘Gabbar Is Back’! A major grosser like Chennai Express collected Rs 25.21 crore in its second weekend at the box office. Tanu Weds Manu Returns has collected Rs 28.3 crore!
In fact, the second weekend business is even comparable to last year’s Eid release Kick, which collected Rs 34.01 crore.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns has already collected around Rs 99 crore in 10 days. It could go on to do business of Rs 130 crore or more, beating films like Jai Ho, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Golmaal 3, Ram Leela, Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty, Agneepath, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Housefull 2 and several others. The 10-day business of the film was also higher than Aamir Khan’s Talaash!

These are mindboggling collections to say the least . These collections have made this movie as a huge brand . Quite a few movies have done 100 CR without the presence of a Superstar but those movies took more than 2 weeks and TWMR will do this today in 11 days . I am damn sure even Kangana, Madhavan and the producers also did not expected such huge collections . This movie will be the 1st 100 CR Grosser of 2015 . Congrats to the entire team and looking at the current trends it can get a tag of All Time Blockbuster . In the next week if DDD flops it can continue its good run in the 3rd week even though a lot of screens will be reduced .
When Chennai express was ther highest bollywood grosser ever(227 cr) it was not called Atbb … but when dhoom 3 became the highest grosser it was declared atbb… also budget of d3 was much higher than ce… Is budget not taken into considration while calling a movie atbb???
