Tanu Weds Manu Returns is on a dream run at the box office. The film is the highest first week grosser of the year, both in the domestic and overseas markets, ahead of much-bigger films like Gabbar Is Back, Baby and Piku.
The Madhavan – Kangana starrer has collected Rs 70 crore (net) in Week 1 in India and grossed Rs 25.5 crore in the overseas markets. The worldwide gross currently stands at around Rs 119.6 crore.

Looking at the way ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ has sustained on its 2nd Friday, the film is almost certain to be the first 100 crore film of the year and could eventually gross Rs 200 crore worldwide!
Only 20 films in the history of Indian Cinema have grossed Rs 200 crore worldwide. Interestingly, if ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ crosses the milestone, it will be first film without a bankable male star to gross 200 crore. 14 of those belong to the Khans and Hrithik has two. The remaining four featured Akshay Kumar (Rowdy Rathore), Ajay Devgn (Singham Returns), Ranbir Kapoor (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) and Ranveer Singh / Deepika Padukone (Ram Leela)
So a film like Tanu Weds Manu Returns grossing 200 crore would be a massive achievement.

Can we praise a film or an actor without abusing another actor, what does twmrs doing well have to do salma, srk and akki failures or underperformers. yes we get it jaiho, , Baby and Gib underperformed but surely these actors will have their good moment also. my predictions BB 285crs, drisham 105cr brothers 212 crs and dilwale 325crs yes I am highly optimistic coz I love B/wood.

I guess u both need to do ur homework well with past box office numbers.. coz they depend on the year, release size, inflation, ticket prices and also footfalls along with multiplex/single screens ratio.. for eg: 3 idiots got 200 crs wen biggest films cldnt even manage 100 crs.. screen size was way too less.. also dabang got 140+ wen again it was jus 1400 screen size and half ticket prices.. u cant compare a hny to dabanng.. or even dhoom 3 to 3 idiots.. even a kick with dabanng is not comparable.. ddlj and hahk belong to the class where a sholay or mughale azam or a 3 idiots is.. pk may be a entry in that class.. rest all though are huge hits and may have earned way more than those films but are recent box office where prices and inflation and screens have increased many folds!!.. if u want to compare u can compare a kick with hny or with dhoom 3 or with pk.. yes pk is by far the biggest in recent era of high business also coz it has touched the elite class of the very few films I mentioned above if not gained an entry to that club!! @movies77,I agree shlay,DDLJ,hahk’s footfalls couldn’t be compared with 3i,CE or any other film.even HNY,kick,dhoom3,pk like big films with higher screens,ticket price with a film like CE with less screen,ticket price as well facing 3 big release in each week.that’s definitely appreciable what you said.but salman fans are so dumb they are not trying to understand anything and only giving collections after 2010 films and try to behave in such a way films before 2010 has no value.while in actual non of salman’s film has value while I also agreed beside JTHJ,DON2 non of KING KHAN’S FILM has great value.that’s we’re not afraiding to agree.while amir’s film also has no class in recent times as all of them like talash,pk are pseudo classics not a Teal/Elite CLASS movies.while I found twmr very innovative along with HAIDER is one of the best performance.I never hesitate to unite but these wicked fans doesn’t want everyone to reunite and supports good fms.
