Talaash has collected Rs 14.52 on it’s opening day at the domestic box office. The morning shows were around 60-70% at multiplexes, but the film showed huge growth for the evening and night shows.
In the cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Lucknow, Noida, Mangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai.. and other major cities, the film was running to near 100% capacity for the evening and night shows.
The word-of-mouth is mixed, but Talaash is likely to show good growth over the weekend. We expect Saturday to be around 15-16 cr, as the morning shows at key centres today have slightly better occupancy than yesterday. Sunday will be huge. It remains to be seen if Talaash can cross the 20 crore mark.

why comparing with JTHJ …JTHJ has undue advantage of festivals. shahukh and salman takes advantage of festivals…and same old story lines…. While any movies of aamir has great, unique and sensible stories. I think other two khans have to take birth 10 times to match the class of aamir.

First day box office collections is below RR,Housefull 2,Agneepath,JTHJ & ETT.If the film is good,it will pick up like Vicky Donor,Kahaani,Barfi,OMG etc.

Sunday- 19 crores
weekend- 46.5 crores which means super bcoz it released on a holiday.
remaining 4 days will be 35-40 crores so expecting a 80-86 crore weekend and now even if film falls by 50% that means it will collect 40 crores in second week so 126 cores-120 crores and then 2 more weeks before hurricane dabangg arrives so 25-30 crores more which means 155 crores it will beat dabangg and bodyguard for sure.

I checked in other websites too. The first day collections for talaash were the same as shown by the indicine. And for those who didn’t like this movie, are clearly the dumbest creatures on the earth.
@aki : ask yourself that if there is any actor in India who can even dare to do a movie like talaash.aamir is continuously working hard to bridge the gap between classic (offbeat)and mainstream cinema.you should appreciate that effort.as I said masses will not like it but who really want to see standout performances from the lead and some different kind off cinema will definitely like it.
