Sultan Box Office Collections: Scores big on second day

Salman Khan’s Sultan was outstanding on its second day at the box office. The film has recorded the 6th highest single-day in the history of the Hindi Film Industry.

Previously, only one film this year had crossed the 20 crore mark on a single day (3rd day of Housefull 3, national holiday). Sultan has twice crossed the 35 crore mark in two days (both partial holidays) and should remain above the 20 crore mark throughout its extended weekend.

The film has shown a small growth in business on Thursday over Wednesday, which is a sign that the word-of-mouth is certainly not negative and people are liking the film. Even with the Eid factor, it takes good word-of-mouth for films with such a massive release to sustain after a huge opening day.

The trend is also positive in a circuit like East Punjab, which has held on very strongly after a record-breaking opening day. Some centres, even multiplexes (it’s a multiplex dominated circuit) have shown decent growth.

Overall, Sultan is well on course to be a big winner at the box office. The question will now be, how big. Can it peak like Bajrangi Bhaijaan or sustain well enough to cross the 300 crore mark?

Our IndicineLBO predictions should give you a better idea on what to expect, but we have delayed our final predictions by a day. We need atleast one working day to analyse the trend, but we haven’t yet been able to ascertain the exact percentage of advantage the partial holiday has given the film in the last couple of days. So stay tuned to our final prediction at around 1PM tomorrow.

Sultan Box Office Collections:

  • Wednesday – 36.54 crore
  • Thursday – 37.20 crore
  • 2-day Total collections - 73.74 crore

  • Great collections!!!
As a fan myself and some other fans too were expecting more than 40+

    Biggest Superstar in Universe

  • Belive me or not but
Sultan’s first day collection were more than the producer figures. They showed it less because of two reasons. First is to show the upward trend for the film, which will create perception of film being liked by audience. The second one is a secret which I know but no other fan or site knows.

  • Be honest n remain dignified- we are chasing lifetime records or as Rancho would say “chasing excellence”

  • Monday se single digit mei aa jayega.. likh ke le lo.. nxt week GGM,sultan will finish after 1 week..

  • Sultan 2nd day collection is good though not up to d mark.. Most of trade pundits, Salman’s fan called tsunami is coming.. Where is so called tsunami?? Over hyped movie by a NON-ACTOR..

  • Monday se single digit mei aa jayega.. likh ke le lo.. nxt week GGM,sultan will be finished after 1 week..

  • INDICINE you overhyped sultan before its release and it can be seen with the collections now.

  • PRDP did 129.5cr in extended weekned Sultan will do more or less same as prdp in extended weekned

  • So which day is a holiday?
Earlier, non-actor fans claimed that collections were lower on Day 1 since Eid was on July 7.
Now, on Eid day too, non-actor lagged behind. Forget the giant numbers of HNY, it didn’t even cross 40 cr mark.
So question still remains the same.
When was the Eid holiday? Or this year there was no Eid holiday at all?
When I questioned the ‘partial holiday’ factor on Day 1, few illiterate morons (of course, no-actor fans) suggested me to check the government of India calendar. Now I want to know the reaction of all those fools.

  • Partial holiday? I think it was declared as national holiday by government. 37 crore is huge figure, but I was expecting 40 crore+ on Eid holiday. Today will give better idea about trend.

  • good movie. Performance wise salman one of the best but i am eagerly waiting for Dangal. Aamir looking great

  • Watched it on pc good flick if not the best salman was good deliver good performance anushka is at her best just loved her performance my rating is 3.5/5 first half is best and 2nd is average if it touches 200 cr then its enough because u cant expect such movies to break records its a sports movie.

  • its not a big deal, it was eid supposed to be 40+ still cudnt managed. bt any way im also salman fan so all the best for the movie, hope it ll remain steady over weekdays.

Climax : What a climax it is . Final Match in MMA is nail biting
Last Kick Salman Hit Tremendously well…wow what a epic Kick

  • @Indicine : Stick to one stand. Earlier you gave the reference of GOI website and said Eid is on Thursday and so is the holiday. Now you are saying even Thursday was a ‘partial holiday’. So when exactly was the Eid holiday?
Can you throw some light on that?
