Ever since Salman Khan’s 2016 Eid release, Sultan, was first announced by Yash Raj Films on 23rd June 2015, there has been tremendous curiosity among the audience to know who plays the female lead.
Names like Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Kriti Sanon have been doing the rumours. Deepika and Anushka have gone on record to say they have never been approached for the film.
With the curiosity building up, Yash Raj Films is likely to make the official announcement soon. It could be as early as next week.
Director Ali Abbas Zafar was quoted as saying “There will only be one heroine (in Sultan) and we will announce it soon.”
There are also reports that the leading lady will have to put on some weight (read gain muscle) and learn the basics of wrestling.

I would be thrilled to see Anushka or Katrina getting the role..if not one of them Priyank Chopra would suffice it but I can see YRF coming out of the left field and bringing on someone like Parineeta for the role.

Sultan is getting anticipated day by day . I think actresses like Deepika, Kareena and Katrina will not be considered because Sultan will not have a strong female character . So they might announce a Debutant or a less established actress . Ali Abbas Zafar also said there will be no Villain in Sultan . Also the rumours floating that Rekha is playing Salman’s Mother is absolutely false . Waiting for the announcement and i hope Ali Abbas Zafar gives a good movie much better from MBKD and Gunday .

To put on weight, i don’t think anyone would agree, except the likes of Vidya Balan and Kangana……and may be even Priyanka……..who like to get in to the skin of characters they play.
If the above 3 are not in the list, then may be they have to take someone who is a bit bulky…….and those could then be Parineeti or Sonakshi……

My bet is on Rekha/Fareeda Zalal. If they are looking for someone younger, then they should go for Bharti Singh from comedy circus. Looking the Weight and personality of bhaijan, she will be the perfect choice :P
