The advance booking of Sultan has set records all across India. Trade sources say, about 25 crore worth of tickets for the entire weekend have already been sold as of Tuesday night, something that no film has ever achieved.
The advance booking sales is about 3.5 to 4 times more than any other release this year and could possibly be higher than the advance ticket sales of all 2016 films combined. Almost every multiplex chain has set records.
The ticket sales were brisk ever since the counters opened on Sunday morning. Lot of shows were sold out in minutes and sales began gaining momentum with block bookings and corporate sales. We have also received confirmation from BookMyShow, that Sultan has recorded the highest advance ticket sales ever on their website.
The craze for the film, without an iota of exaggeration, is unprecedented. If the scene at the ticket counter tomorrow is anything close to the kind of response that the advance booking has got, non-holiday records could fall and Sultan could be challenging holiday records on a partial / half holiday.
A tsunami is expected in the next couple of days at the box office and it’ll be Salman’s turn once again to firmly establish his box office supremacy.

@Xzone, Google it. Government has sent a circular in the evening saying holiday has been moved. Some states like Kerala have declared Wednesday as a holiday. Stock market and banks will be closed, but schools, colleges and government offices will be open tomorrow and closed on Thursday.
