Vinay Patak of Bheja Fry fame is back with yet another comedy flick titled “Straight – Ek Tedhi Medhi Love Story” directed by Parvati Balagopalan. Former Miss India Gul Panag plays the female lead along with Anuj Chaudhary, Siddhartha Makkar and Achala Sachdev in supporting roles.

‘Straight’ is about Pinu (Vinay Patak), a Londoner of Indian origin, who owns a successful Indian restaurant called “Gaylord”. A simple soul at heart, Pinu is an introvert who lacks confidence and is always quiet insecure. The main reason behind his underlying confidence is his virginity and the fear of being the laughing stock to all.
Pinu hire’s two people – Renu as cashier and Kamlesh as cook come stand up comedian, to lend him a hand at his resturant business. Renu’s passion for caricature interests her to make cheerful caricature for the customers while Kamlesh invites crowd with his fabulous cooking and great comic talent. Soon Gaylord turns into the most happening place in the town. They both not just bring about great changes in the restaurant but also end up changing Pinu’s personality from being an introvert.
All goes fine until one fine day Pinu discovers a new fear – that he could be gay!!!! Pinu seeks refuge in Rajat’s advice which is quite simply – screw a woman! His sexual rendezvous leads him to suffering another string of tragicomic situations, ending up feeling humiliated…and laughed at!
Straight – Ek Tedhi Medhi Love Story is about Pinu, his fears and complexes, and his realization of being straight and finding himself a love story to be proud off.
