The clash has been averted. Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express will have a solo release this Eid as Balaji Motion Pictures have postponed Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again by a week.
What this effectively means is, Chennai Express will have one open week (8 – 14 Aug), including two holidays – 9th Aug for Eid-ul-fitr and weekly holiday on Sunday.
With Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani crossing the 100 crore mark in 7 days and last year’s Eid release Ek Tha Tiger collecting 137 crore in it’s first week, the trade now expects Chennai Express to shatter every existing box office record.

If CE fails to gross 120 crore in first week SRK should retire.
Ranbir’s medium hyped YJHD grossed 107 crore in week 1.

chennai express won’t groos more than 50 crore after week one. so all its success is dependent on the first 4 days. if they make it an averatge of 20 than 80 crore plus 30 crore on rest of days . than it can go to 160 crore. lifetime. but i have a feeling it would make 17 croe on first day 19 on second 18 on saturday and 20 on sunday now since there is no clash total 74 crore in 4 days and 105 in one week than 50 more total of 155 since there is no clash . once upon would be 17+14+16+18 total 65 in 4 days and 25 on rest of days total 90 in one week. plus 45 crore on rest od weeks total 135 crore . clearly chennai express would benifit a lot more from avoiding clash but too talk of it would break ek tha tiger record it would have to collect 20 crore each day for first 7 days which is not possible at all it might cross body gaurd’s record but would be behind dabang 2 yjhd ett and 3 idiots and at the end of year it would be behind besharam ,boss krish and dhoom 3
this movie is very important for srk . he is always a bit scared to relase his movies on non holidays. thats the reason he preponed this movie to clash with outim2 . if this fails to croos 130 crore now after there is no clash it would mean a lot of dent in his stardom cause after this next three diwali’s are booked by hr and salman plus next year’s eid is also booked by salman same goes for next year’s christman by ranbir kapoor. he would not find a suitable holiday release and there are also many new stars rising now. so this movie is very important for srk cause if this don’t make collection he can forget to make those in future .

raone solo release on diwali and srk fans and paid annalists are like it would go 200 crore and all. ends up just passing 100 crore with open weeks and solo diwali release. than jthj yash chopra’s last movie his death ar rehman music and bla bla. and again fans and analyists go it would cros 200croe and bla bla bla. ends up crossing 100 crore barely. going by this trend chennai express might not even cross 3 year old ready’s collection
@rajiv srk is not a coward like aki, if diwalli, chrismas and eid blocked by salman, ranbir and hritic then then they will face clash with srk and we just wait and watch they are coward like aki or not.
