Update 12:30AM: With collections pouring in, Singham Returns seems to have collected around 8-9 crore on Tuesday. The film had bigger drops in a few circuits.
Singham Returns is all set to cross the 100 crore mark today, as the film has held up well on its first all-india working weekday at the box office. Monday was a holiday in some parts of the country, but most offices and schools were open. Yet, the film managed to collect Rs 14.78 crore at the box office.
On Tuesday, the film is on course to collect around 10-10.5 crore net (very early estimate), as most centres have witnessed drops in the range of 15-20% today. A few circuits like Mysore, Andhra/Nizam, Bengal have shown bigger drops.
Singham Returns should collect around 115 crore in its first week, which is a fantastic total for a film Ajay Devgn. It would be his highest grosser to date (ahead of Golmaal 3) in less than a week.
After a record-breaking opening day, there were expectations of Singham Returns crossing the 200 crore mark. But the trends, both during the weekend and Monday, suggests that the film should finish somewhere between the 160-165 crore mark – which is about the same as the first week business of Salman Khan’s Kick.
Entertainment and Kick are still going steady on the lower side. Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani, which releases this weekend, is likely to take a below-average start and would depend on word-of-mouth publicity. Singham Returns will continue to be the first choice this weekend too, until the release of Emraan Hashmi’s Raja Natwarlal on August 29th.

@Babaji ka thullu, Dabangg 2 was not an under-performer. It collected more than Dabangg did. Dabangg 2 was a blockbuster. Then, how come it was an under-performer? Please explain. Whether you liked the film or not, it is up to you. Dabnagg and Dabangg 2 are very much like Singham and Singham Returns.
Jai Ho was an under-performer. I expected 150 Crores from it. But it was due to various negative reasons if you accept or not. Lowered Ticket Price, Non-Festive Release, Negative Controversy, Not Beautiful Heroine, Less Entertainment Quotients (expected from Salman’s films) etc etc….
The actors act like zombies in this movie

Dabangg 2 was released during christmas,the best release period,on more no. of screens compared to dabangg,higher ticket rates,sequel factor…but still did 10-15crs more than its prequel..which i think is an underperformance…same year ETT collected 198crs…

Dabang 2 did underperform but still a blockbuster which was better than the previous Christmas’ franchise release that merely scraped its way into the 100 cr club…

i thought it will be add in 200cr club bt due to no big and more holiday it had drop badly… If 2nd wkend will manage to collect 30cr in 3 days then surely SR will head towords 180-190cr also.. But its looking hard
