Update 12:30AM: With collections pouring in, Singham Returns seems to have collected around 8-9 crore on Tuesday. The film had bigger drops in a few circuits.
Singham Returns is all set to cross the 100 crore mark today, as the film has held up well on its first all-india working weekday at the box office. Monday was a holiday in some parts of the country, but most offices and schools were open. Yet, the film managed to collect Rs 14.78 crore at the box office.
On Tuesday, the film is on course to collect around 10-10.5 crore net (very early estimate), as most centres have witnessed drops in the range of 15-20% today. A few circuits like Mysore, Andhra/Nizam, Bengal have shown bigger drops.
Singham Returns should collect around 115 crore in its first week, which is a fantastic total for a film Ajay Devgn. It would be his highest grosser to date (ahead of Golmaal 3) in less than a week.
After a record-breaking opening day, there were expectations of Singham Returns crossing the 200 crore mark. But the trends, both during the weekend and Monday, suggests that the film should finish somewhere between the 160-165 crore mark – which is about the same as the first week business of Salman Khan’s Kick.
Entertainment and Kick are still going steady on the lower side. Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani, which releases this weekend, is likely to take a below-average start and would depend on word-of-mouth publicity. Singham Returns will continue to be the first choice this weekend too, until the release of Emraan Hashmi’s Raja Natwarlal on August 29th.

For every other star like srk,amir,salman,hritik your excuses are ready to blown out e.g these all above stars release their movies with high rates at multipleaxes .bout 500 to 800 Rs/ticket but in the case of singham returns ticket prices are at normal range in multiplexes about 200 to 300 Rs/ticket still it collected about 32cr on its 1st day. I only want to say depesite singham returns will collects something less than other biggies but its success is more than these biggies.

I still remember in the month of January 2014 you published an article about the Top 5 Bollywood stars in which Salman was 1st, Aamir was 2nd, SRK was 3rd, Hrithik was 4th and Ranbir was 5th . In that article you calculated the total nett collections of their 5 movies and then you calculated the average collections per movie . In that article you only mentioned box office collections of Hindi version . For Ex. You mentioned Dhoom 3 – 270 CR. And Krrish 3 – 233 CR. So what i want to say is that Kick is the 3rd highest grosser behind Dhoom 3 and Krrish 3 . If Kick will collect more than 233 CR. Then i will agree that it will be 2nd highest grosser . I agree on the fact that Kick has beaten the worldwide collections of Krrish 3 . There is no more holiday for Singham Return.But like all other rohit-ajay film it will trend well in lower side. A 110 cr. week and 30+ cr. second weekend will make it 140+ cr. Rest of lifetime is 15 cr. so, 150+ is sure. May go beyond that easily as Mardani is a WOM sort of movie and not releasing on much screen.
