Singham Returns has surpassed the first weekend business of the first film Singham in less than a day at the box office. Released in 2011, Singham was one of the biggest openers of the year, collecting Rs 8.5 crore on Friday, 9.5 cr on Saturday and 12 cr on Sunday.
Singham Returns has already collected Rs 32.09 crore on its first day and could beat the first week business of Singham at the end of its second day at the box office.
Singham collected 50 crore in its first week and finished with lifetime business of 100 crore net. Singham Returns should collect more than 100 crore in its first weekend and could go on to be one of the biggest grossers of all time.
The 2011 super-hit released on 2000 screens in India, while the second part, which also happens to be Rohit Shetty’s 10th film as director, has released on 3600 screens in the domestic market.
I watched it yesterday and it was just ok. Better than Dhoom3 and Kick. Action scenes do not make any sense.
Really Indian public has poor taste. Good movies are ignored and brainless movies break records. Hats off.
