Ajay Devgan’s Singham has opened to a bumper response at single screens (both in big cities and smaller towns), but the start was slow at multiplexes. The all-India opening is likely to be about 70% which would mean collections in the range of 8 – 10 crores.
Singham is almost assured of the second spot in the biggest openers of the year after Ready, which opened well at both single screens and multiplexes.
Word-of-mouth is good and collections should remain strong throughout the weekend. The film released late afternoon at several multiplexes due to the dispute. So while the Friday numbers are expected to be slightly lower than predicted, Saturday and Sunday should witness huge jump in business.
Will Saturday collections improve over Friday, like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara last week or will the usual trend of Saturday’s being slightly lower than Friday continue?

singham is mindblowing i have become a huge fan of rohit who has done a remarkable job along with ajay .GOTIYA has shades of GOLMAL . A SECOND viewing is on the cards.
doing remakes is the worst form of compliment and if bodygyard also is then its a shame…we dont like to seepotbellied goons and mooch wale heroes and women who act over the top like asin did in ghajini and ready they are a torture to watch and the dialogies are oh so downmarket…pooh pooh
bolliwood film makers dont have any new ideas in these days,they pick any biggie film from south indian industry(telagu,tamil,kannada,malayalam) and remade it in hindi with songs also,bolliwood films are much more lagging behind any south indian movies interms story narration,story,film making,cost and other all technical aspects,super star rajinikant’s one film salary will equal to cost of 4-5 top bolliwood films,so atleast now onwards stop comparing bolliwood films with our standards,
South indian films are far far best than the copy cats hindi wallah movies. There are so many hit movies in hindi which are remade from south…. because this north indians really don’t know how to make a good movie. they just copy ..let this megha better understand this if she(or) he has something in head.
i m sorry 2 hurt u megha,though i am a maharashtrian,bt i respect south films,bcoz they performed very wel,and work on special n new story.
