Yash Raj Films’ Shuddh Desi Romance has done well on its second day at the box office. The film picked up by more than 20% to take its two day total to Rs 14.35 crores. The first weekend business should be around 23-24 crore net, which is excellent for a film released on 1058 screens.
Shuddh Desi Romance is faring very well in the cities and multiplexes. The film has worked big time with the urban youth, and has, quite surprisingly, fared well even in some smaller cities.
The Maneesh Sharma film has been produced and distributed by YRF, who will recover their investment in the first week itself. The film is a clean hit unless it drops heavily on Monday.
On Sunday, SDR will put up even better numbers as the occupancy for the morning and noon shows was higher than Saturday.
- Friday – 6.45 crore
- Saturday – 7.9 crore
- Total Collections – 14.35 crore
Poor distributors. They earned huge profits from Chennai Express. Now they have lost it all with films like Satyagraha, OUATIMD and Zanjeer
Shuddh desi romance is total bakwaas,no story,just has few good moments,it will go same like Aashiqui 2.
I did’nt understand what was going on in 2nd half,very confusing.
These kind of movies work only due to love couples.
Expected so much,got nothing,very disappointed.

I feel so bad for PC. The script should have be redone by the original writers with a view of the concerns of 2000.s not 1970’s. They could have crafted a more believable story. This die-buckle reminds me of the attempt to writea sequel to “Gone With The Wind” by a new author.
