With the Diwali festivities coming to an end, the audience were back in theatres to watch the two major releases – Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
It was a good day at the box office on Monday. In the morning it was ADHM that started well, with Shivaay taking the lead late-morning / noon onwards. The two films weren’t really competing against each other as ADHM was by far the first choice at major cities, while Shivaay was recording very high occupancy at smaller centres.
The bigger the centre, the better the occupancy for ADHM, which is a big advantage to have because the average ticket price for ADHM was much higher than Shivaay. The Ranbir-Anushka starrer did not even have to perform pan-India to beat Shivaay for the fourth consecutive day.
Shivaay had volume, the footfalls (number of tickets sold) was way higher for the film, but the collections have come in lower (unconfirmed) because of lower ticket prices.
The total collections of ADHM and Shivaay on Monday was around 15% lower than the opening day collections of Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo last year.
The difference between Shivaay and ADHM at the end of 4 days is Rs 7.44 crore.

Ajay fans were sure Shivaay was gonna destroy ADHM from the first day itself. It failed so they blamed critics for doing their job.
Then they said it was gonna bounce back on Monday and take the lead. It did bounce back but ADHM still is the big leader.
Now they say it will lead on Tuesday… Then what ? After being wrong once again they’ll wait for 2050 for Shivaay to be a hit ? Come on guys !! Accept defeat and stop being ridiculous. This Diwali, in India and overseas, it’s ADHM all the way !!

Kunal are u stupid, it’s not an srk film, I don’t think u understand the difference between cameo and lead star, they never publicised srk either in promos or campaigns, it was meant to be a pleasant surprise, the power of devgun was seen in 2012 when sos collected 8cr and jthj collected 15cr plus, ajay, salman, sanjay dutt, sonakshisinha combine could gather only 8cr

Dracula has not yet released the official figure. It might go to 18+. Hats off to the ADHM team for maintaining the dignity thru out the preeelease period as well as now aftermovie is released. No manipulation whatsever. Dracula and his ugly wife should be boycotted by everyone and should be sent to some rain forests. Pen India must be crying why they invested in this movie. Dracula not allowing them to give the correct figures. Their frustration can be seen from their twitter handle itself, all the twits are for Kahani2 rather then this crap.
Shivaay remains bellow on the biggest holiday too today is partial holiday so may touch double digit still remain bellow than ADHM from tomorrow onwards shivaay finished like prdp/hny but weekned saved prdp/hny where shivaay is going for Disaster verdict and krk win over ajay

Today I have come with some amazing data. We have seen that Salman’s per film collection is higher than Srk’s. Lot of people think that Srk ruled for two decades. But what is the proof? We can compare their per film average but that is not very good idea when you are comparing for a decade or more cause tickets rates see lot of change during this much period. So the best way is to compare footfalls per film. So let’s sew what I have come up with.
Note: Footfalls given are in crores.
From 1994 to 1999 Salman sold 1.47 cr tickets per film(Not including KKHH).
While Srk sold 1.42 cr per film during same period. So clearly Salman was ahead.
Coming to next decade, which spoils the show for Salman. Salman sold 0.6 cr means 60 lac tickets per film and Srk sold 1.15 cr per film. This decade puts Srk ahead in overall career. Yes, Srk is ahead in overall career but difference is so small that within next 2 or 3 years Salman can overtake.
Now from 2010 to present. Here Salman is way ahead. He has sold 2.25 cr per film while Srk sold 1.65 cr per film.
Coming to overall career Salman has sold 1.19 cr per film and Srk has sold 1.34 cr per film.
Here I have not included Fan. Including that Srk’s average should come down to 1.33.
But this is not all. This includes data only after 1994. Before 1994 Salman has 1 ATBB, 2 superhits, 2 hits and around 4-5 flops while Srk has only 2 success and 5-6 flops. Though I don’t have footfalls of those films but my calculations tell that after including those films Salman’s average should increase by around 3 lacs while that of Srk’s should decrease by 4-5 lacs. So till now Salman has sold around 1.22 cr tickets per film and Srk has sold around 1.29 cr tickets per film.
Let me tell you how to calculate this when new films will get added. Suppose Salman’s next gets around 2.8 cr footfalls which is 1.6 cr more than his average and he has done around 70 films till now. So his average will increase by around 1.6 cr÷ 70 = 2.3 lacs.
So the conclusion is that Salman was ahead in 2 decades but due to unfortunate last decade Srk is leading in overall career by small margin. But if Slaman gives 3 or 4 2.5 cr footfall films and if Srk continues with his current pace then soon we will see tables turning around.
So chill guys and Happy Diwali. Here I am not talking about other stars as they are not in competition in my opinion.

Wid low ticket price and riding only on ajays shoulder who is not good as directing as karan johar still competing neck to neck . Indicine dont haul the shivaay movie budget doesnt matter if it costliest if it surpass the collection of duniya ka sabse baada superstar FAN 75 cr it will consider as blockbuster.

I agree that trade and official figures can differ, but this is the 4th time of 4 days that Shivaay gives bigger numbers than trade estimations. Real difference between ADHM and Shivaay is 10-12 cr, not 7 cr. But don’t worry Ajay fans, even though you star manipulated the collections of his film, it will still FLOP badly.
