Dabangg, Bodyguard and this year’s Ek Tha Tiger have all smashed box-office records. What’s common between those films? Well, it’s the release date. Salman Khan created a new festive weekend for EID and he literally conquered it with back-to-back blockbusters.
A lot of eye-brows were raised when Balaji announced the release date of their keenly-awaited sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. Several questions were being asked both in the industry and on the internet; Has Salman decided to slow down a little after Dabangg 2, given his health condition? With Balaji scheduling their film for EID, will Salman back out and let Akshay have a solo release? If he indeed wants a release for EID 2013, which film will be opt for – No Entry sequel or Sher Khan?
Finally, we have some official news. Sohail Khan has confirmed that they are starting Sher Khan in January 2013 and will release the film during EID. Priyanka Chopra is likely to be cast as the female lead (unconfirmed).
It’ll be interesting to see if Balaji now back out and postpone the release of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2. Or are we set for an epic clash?

@velocity. For a brainy person like you, its better to watch saas bahu serials and opera shows rather than salman or srk movies. I dont know why some people have such a low opinion on south indian movies? To set record straight tollywood(telugu) industry produces the most number of movies in india which are both commercial & critically acclaimed( success rate of more than 70%), kollywood(tamil) has the biggest legendary superstar “RAJNI KANTH” and acting maestros like kamal hasan,surya,vikram & vijay who are the literally worshipped as GODS in south, and their movies are any time better than many of the bollywood movies. Sandalwood(kannada) movies are equally good but malayalam film industry is the best of the lot on the basis of only cinematic art & talent. Just once watch some good southindian movies to appreciate the richness and abundance of cinematic talent. And if you want to see realistic,natural and appropriate method acting then watch kamal hasaan,mohan lal, mamooty, vijay,surya (only for their acting)

Akshay should release his film on Eid. If actors start shifting the dates of films getting afraid of Salman,then it would be real problem. Salman will start releasing his stupid films on all festival seasons. Other actors will have to shift the releases. If that happens lot of small budget films will be total washouts.

Joker released 17 day later after ek tha tiger released ane Joker’s lifetime collection is 18 crores. If oatim 2 release with sher khan then its collection will be 18 lakhs.
