Dabangg, Bodyguard and this year’s Ek Tha Tiger have all smashed box-office records. What’s common between those films? Well, it’s the release date. Salman Khan created a new festive weekend for EID and he literally conquered it with back-to-back blockbusters.
A lot of eye-brows were raised when Balaji announced the release date of their keenly-awaited sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. Several questions were being asked both in the industry and on the internet; Has Salman decided to slow down a little after Dabangg 2, given his health condition? With Balaji scheduling their film for EID, will Salman back out and let Akshay have a solo release? If he indeed wants a release for EID 2013, which film will be opt for – No Entry sequel or Sher Khan?
Finally, we have some official news. Sohail Khan has confirmed that they are starting Sher Khan in January 2013 and will release the film during EID. Priyanka Chopra is likely to be cast as the female lead (unconfirmed).
It’ll be interesting to see if Balaji now back out and postpone the release of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2. Or are we set for an epic clash?

I have been telling from eternity to srk fans that wake up from your past and try to live in present, dont be in fool’s paradise all the time, accept the changing times and its realities and move on with it, but it seems these people are struck in some “past time-warp”. Hope these people will atleast heed to indicine’s comments.
@undertaker @nvs. completely agree with u. that’s the charisma of the man called SRK that when haters want to bring him down they use films like ra 1 and Don 2 which have grossed well more than 100 crores. he he. but when we try to bring salman and akshay disasters they haven’t even crossed single digits . so true. he he he. lol. @khaleed miya well said. Just remember that i never say anything against any actor/actress, except srk. If someone is using my id and posting some negative comments against any actors other than srk, then he surely will be some sour frustrated srk fan using my id.
‘Sherkhan’, if it releases on the auspicious eid day, it will surely create a box office tsunami and is guaranteed to break many records on its way to become an another blockbuster or an atbb. I like akki as well, so its better for balaji telefilms to postpone their OUATM 2 by atleast a month as salman shares a special bond with his fans during eid. even sohail khan may change his mind later. Either way, sherkhan or ouatm 2 will be no less than blockbusters whenever they release. Salman fans like akki’s movies and akki fans like salman movies.

And now salman is enjoying overwhelming success, so even if indicine doesnt like him, it has to say good things about him but i dont think that’s the case. Salman’s success has made indicine more popular. More than 70+crore indians enjoy his movies and have made him the biggest superstar in india right now. Name any actor in bollywood whose past success hasnt/isnt igniting their future movies ? its same for each and every actor. And dont worry about salman, he has enough fuel and gas left in the tank to give many more atbbs.
