Shah Rukh Khan becomes first Indian Actor at TED Talks: Some Quotes

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan joins the likes of Bill Clinton (former US President), Bill Gates (Microsoft founder), Sergey Brin (Google Founder), Jeff Bezos (Amazon Founder) amongst many other remarkable people – to address the audience in a conference at TED Talks (Technology, Entertainment and Design talks) in Canada.

The iconic superstar, who is known for his articulate speeches at various universities around the world, has become the first Indian actor to speak on the TED talks stage.

Apart from SRK, the current edition of Ted Talks will also witness top tennis player Serena Williams and business-magnate Elon Musk  - as the other motivational speakers this year.

Back home in India, Shah Rukh has been signed to host the television show ‘TED Talks India: Nayi Soch’. He awaits the release of his upcoming untitled film, directed by Imtiaz Ali.

Some inspirational quotes from SRK’s speech:

  • You can use your energy to spread the darkness of destruction or you can use it to spread the joy of light to millions.
  • There are so many people in India who would like to come out with their ideas and thoughts, and speak them in Hindi.
  • We had expected an expansion of ideas and dreams; we had not bargained for the enclosure of judgment.
  • Humanity is a lot like me. It’s an aging movie star, grappling with all the newness, wondering whether she got it right.
  • I sell dreams and I peddle love to millions of people back home in India who assume that I am the best lover in the world.
  • It has to be you who creates a world that is its own best lover, that should be the future you.
  • I looked at my face and realised I am starting to look more and more like my wax statue at Madame Tussauds.

  • In 1990s sallu lost these clashes
-Biwi ho to aisi vs sone pe suhaaga(madhuri)
    -Kurbaan vs 100 days
    -Suryabanshi vs Panaah(nasserudheen shah)
    -Nischai vs Julm ki Hukumat(govinda)
-Dil tera aashiq vs ek hi raasta
    -Chandramukhi vs Ek hi Raasta(Ajay)
    -Chand ka tukdaa vs Naaraj
    -Sangdil sanam vs HHB(akki)
    -Andaaz apna apna vs suhaag
-Agni sakshi vs Yeh Majhdar(nan patekar)
    -Auzaar vs Juddai(anil kapoor)

And deluded sallu fans call sallu no. 1 in the 90’s, LOL. BOI did the right analysis. 90’s was dominated by Sunny Deol and SRK.

  • @nanga naach

Yesss…. Bhai lost couple of clashes in past. But he never runs away from any clash unlike your galaxy ka sabse bada bhagoda. Don’t you think losing a battle is much better than running away from battlefield like a bhagoda? Let’s have an example….. Maharana Pratap didn’t win a single war against Mughals. Still, we all Indian respect him a lot and consider him one of the biggest warrior ever…!

  • @THe real chuha- What Pratap are you talking about? I don’t know about anyone by that name. SRK is called the King of Boxoffice clashes so don’t give excuses like ‘running away’, if the film isn’t complete and if he has injury and other commitment, he is bound to postpone. And 10 clash defeats in a single decade(i.e. the 90’s, I am not even talking about 2000’s) is called ” a couple of clashes”….??ROFL, Loser chuha..!!

  • @nanga naach

“King of box office”…. My foot! He has been struggling to deliver a HGOTY from last 10 years, not a single ckean hit in last 3 years….. Still he’s a king of BO then Varun Dhawan is the emperor of BO,cz he’s atleast delivering clean hits… Hahaha

  • Lol, by the same logic Gangu Teli sallu has been suffering to deliver an ATHG for his entire career(oh he once shot the mark sitting on Madhuri’s lap ..!!) whereas Prabhas is giving Pan-Indian Opening record with 600% margin and Pan-Indian ATGs with huge margins….!!
