Though it isn?t official yet, plans to create a sequel to Farhan Akhtar?s Don are fast concretising. While other members of the cast and the screenplay are being finalised, the lead actors will be the same.
Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra will be doing an encore of their roles from Farhan?s Don. However stories that Sushmita Sen has been approached for Don 2 are being dismissed as ?baseless, premature and untrue.?
A source says, ?This time Farhan will be doing what no other filmmaker from any part of the world has done. He?ll conceive and execute a sequel to a remake. He has the daunting task of getting into the original screenwriter?s [Javed Akhtar] head to imagine where the plot might have been taken if it were to be carried further.?
The sequel is expected to be much more lavish, spectacular and gorged with effects. The source adds, ?When Don came last year Dhoom hadn?t happened. Now Farhan will have to match the standards set by Dhoom and Krissh. There are also the dubbed Hollywood movies such as Spiderman 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3. The budget and the locations for Don 2 will be far more spectacular than the first part.?
Dates for Shah Rukh and Priyanka have already been finalised for early next year.
