Salman Khan’s ‘Raped Woman’ comment lands him in yet another controversy

Salman Khan has made yet another controversial statement that has resulted in yet another major outrage on social media websites like Twitter and Facebook.

A section of the media and fans of the actor have said that Salman was ‘misquoted’. But the truth of the matter is, Salman wasn’t ‘misquoted’, he did say “felt like a raped woman” but he also said ”I shouldn’t have said that” almost immediately.

It’s easy to take media interactions lightly, more so because there are hundreds that place during a promotional campaign of a film. But social media outrage is a reality in today’s times and actor’s need to be extremely careful.

Like we’ve already seen with the ‘intolerance’ comment by Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, one sentence from an hour long interview can be highlighted, played repeatedly, misquoted and blown out of proportions across all ‘sensation seeking’ news channels.

Even a slip of tongue or something that you don’t mean to say, can land you in what’s being called as ‘Twitter outrage’.

Here’s exactly what Salman Khan said “You look like a fraud, if you’ve not trained properly. You need to put in as many hours (in training) as any other wrestler does. That we’ve done. But when we were shooting, those 6 hours of fighting and throwing each other around, that is unbelievable (very difficult). I’ve got to pick up a 120 kilo person and drop him down.. I’ve got to do it 10 times. In a wrestling match, it happens once or twice. (But here) 10 times from 5 different angles.”

“Those 6 and a half 7 hours, either I’m picking up and throwing or he’s picking me up and throwing. So it’s like the most difficult thing. When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to actually feel like a raped woman walking out…. I don’t think I should have said that….  I couldn’t take steps, it was very difficult.. ” Salman said.

The media cannot really be blamed for ‘misquoting’ Salman, because he actually did say that it felt like a ‘raped woman walking out’, but should he be forgiven for immediately realising his mistake after what looked like a ‘slip of tongue’?

  • Morons everywhere! What’s wrong in saying I’m so deadbeat I felt like a woman raped??? Crass mentality

  • Let’s all #Boycott Sultan and show him his real Aauqat. Dare he release his crap non nonsensical movies before Eid, it will be thrown in Dustbin. This coward is good for nothing, beating women, killing innocent, insulting women, supporting terrorists, beating actors etc. this is all what this cheapo can do.

  • Why are shahrukh, Salman and aamir making controversial statements in front of public? First dilwale and now sultan and dangal will be affected!

  • so finally salman haters have some thing to celebrate………..but dont u know one thing sultan will be another atbb………….:P

  • By comparing himself to a RAPED WOMAN, is Salman Khan getting a feeling that he is undergoing a SEX CHANGE? If he is CHANGING into a WOMAN, he should get himself declared as a member of the TRANSGENDER community. He should also get the roles of the THIRD GENDER in films!! Such actions will also help Salman Khan in AVOIDING the LEGAL PROBLEMS that can be caused by his comparing himself to a RAPED WOMAN.
