After the furore and protests outside his Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has issued unconditional apology for his tweets on Yakub Menon.
The actor’s father Salim Khan, who said his tweets were ‘meaningless’, called Salman and asked him to retract the tweets.
Salman tweeted:
“I had tweeted that Tiger Memon should hang for his crimes and I stand by it. What i also said is that Yakub Memon should not hang for him.”
“I have not said or implied that Yakub Memon is innocent. I have complete faith in the judicial system of our country.”
“Many lives were lost in the Mumbai blasts. And I have repeatedly said the loss of one innocent life is equal to the loss of all humanity.”
“My dad called & said I should retract my tweets as they have the potential to create misunderstanding. I here by retract them.”
“I would like to unconditionally apologise for any misunderstanding I may have created unintentionally.”
“I also strongly condemn those who are claiming my tweets are anti religious. I have always said I respect all faiths and I always will.”
Unfortunately, even after Salman has issued unconditional apology, the controversy could affect the actor.
The BJP in Maharastra has demanded that the bail that was issued in the 2002 hit-and-run case, be cancelled.
Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar met Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and submitted a letter requesting cancellation of bail granted to Salman by the Bombay high court.
“I submitted a letter to the governor requesting cancellation of bail of convicted Salman Khan for supporting a convict. Very disappointing to see Salman Khan ask for release of Yakub Memon. His (Salman’s) bail should be cancelled on the basis of the support for crime. Yakub Memon worked on the mission of mass murder. His sympathy can only come from fellow convict who fails to appreciate mercy shown to him” Shelar said.
Security outside Salman Khan’s residence has been tightened after the controversy.

@ challa- will you shut your mouth after read my last comment. i am sure you haven’t seen aawara movie but that movie was about human’s psychology – in the case Yakub is Tiger’s brother in the movie judge misunderstand the hero as a son of daqait. so he judge him like a criminal from the first day. now you understand what i wanna say. i never said he is inocent but there is possibality that may be he is inocent.
why dont our strong judiciarry, law and police still unable to find tiger and why yaakub only caught and that too in india? it is my question.

i am a die heart fan of salman.but salman does slight mistakes in comment on serious issue.but this is not slight.he should understand what people of india will react to his such tweet.please bhai let police,judge to decide.yes it is not right to hang after 20years in jail.if he is main culprit,he should have hanged long ago.bjp wants to show its power to pakistan.maybe judges took 20years to be sure whether to hang or not.still salman is my idol.

Anyone can make mistake, I do not know anything about these people first hand and also none of you do so we can’t make judgements. Many a times the media twists people’s words and show false information for their own benefit. They have recent made a plan to call everyone a terrorist and also target Muslims for 60% of times. I do not know why someone is called terrorist. If someone does something against a country, they are terrorist, but what if someone do something against a human being? Simple criminal, no need of catching him or anything. These politicians should stay off of social media. I bet thousands of people made the same comments like salman did but before him and no one cares about them because the are not famous.

I respect the decision of Court because they must have given this decision after watching & hearing proper evidences about yaakub memon.
