After the furore and protests outside his Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has issued unconditional apology for his tweets on Yakub Menon.
The actor’s father Salim Khan, who said his tweets were ‘meaningless’, called Salman and asked him to retract the tweets.
Salman tweeted:
“I had tweeted that Tiger Memon should hang for his crimes and I stand by it. What i also said is that Yakub Memon should not hang for him.”
“I have not said or implied that Yakub Memon is innocent. I have complete faith in the judicial system of our country.”
“Many lives were lost in the Mumbai blasts. And I have repeatedly said the loss of one innocent life is equal to the loss of all humanity.”
“My dad called & said I should retract my tweets as they have the potential to create misunderstanding. I here by retract them.”
“I would like to unconditionally apologise for any misunderstanding I may have created unintentionally.”
“I also strongly condemn those who are claiming my tweets are anti religious. I have always said I respect all faiths and I always will.”
Unfortunately, even after Salman has issued unconditional apology, the controversy could affect the actor.
The BJP in Maharastra has demanded that the bail that was issued in the 2002 hit-and-run case, be cancelled.
Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar met Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and submitted a letter requesting cancellation of bail granted to Salman by the Bombay high court.
“I submitted a letter to the governor requesting cancellation of bail of convicted Salman Khan for supporting a convict. Very disappointing to see Salman Khan ask for release of Yakub Memon. His (Salman’s) bail should be cancelled on the basis of the support for crime. Yakub Memon worked on the mission of mass murder. His sympathy can only come from fellow convict who fails to appreciate mercy shown to him” Shelar said.
Security outside Salman Khan’s residence has been tightened after the controversy.

Salman is not my favourite actor, but I have always felt the man has a good heart. He just doesn’t know the right way to express it, but he always speaks from his heart.
I feel sad for him. He should have been enjoying the success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The movie is doing so well. This controversy won’t let him enjoy the success of BB like he should.
He is free to have his opinion. But why did he tweet? Will his tweets make any difference? Will Pakistan release Tiger Menon or Dawood Ibrahim? Will Yakub Menon capital punishment be changed?
No. Nothing change, except it will malign Salman’s image further. His image was improving after BB, but now it’ll affect him further.
I also feel his hit and run case is tragic. People consider him a murderer. But please read through the court’s verdict. It’s culpable homicide NOT amounting to murder. It was an accident.
He has suffered enough. Let the man live in peace. He might have killed an innocent man, but he has also saved the lives of thousands.
Aamir was too smart that he involved his
movie into controversies … he knew it would benefit his film …. so he got out of controversies safely …. without being criticised….. pk shoke the whole world.

Finally Salman Khan apologized for his poor English:
“I would also like to apologize for my use of poor English grammar. This is something I’ve been struggling with for years. I also make the common error of using “I” or “he” as objects instead of subjects, such as “Same thing happened to Kartina and I” instead of “to Katrina and me”. I keep forgetting “and” is a red herring, and what matters is how whether the word in question is a subject or object.
He further added.
“I realize I should have used the past participle for “to be”, “gone”, instead of the past tense “went”, seeing as it was preceded by a helping verb – “have”…I apologize to everyone hurt my words and promise one day to talk English good.”
Sorry Salman but the damage is done. We may still continue to love you but this has left us bitterly disappointed..
Everyone needs Bhai’s name to get publicity. Ex director of RAW said the same, journalist Ravish Kumar also protested the hang out. But cheap politicians are protesting only against Bhai. Because they know Salman ke naam pe beekta hai…!!!

look at political parties- they want cancel his bail just because he tweet to support a man who may be inocent. i have read about their behaviour on narmada bachao andolan and other social matters. many of them are criminals and they rule on us ?

The controversy made Salman to apologize for the tweets, which he shouldn’t post. But its good that took them back. May be his intention weren’t bad but the expression wasn’t good. These kind of things give chance to people who always want to increase communalism, which hamper the public the most. Earlier owaisi said yakub got punishment as he is Muslim, after that these kind of tweet let them to talk hindu vs Muslim debate.
