Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer of the ‘Housefull’ series of films, has announced that the third film in the successful franchise will not be directed by Sajid Khan. Most in the industry believe, that Himmatwala’s dismal performance at the ticket window, cost Khan the third Housefull film.
But a source close to Nadiadwala says “It’s being blown out of proportions by the media. Sajid Khan was never meant to direct Housefull 3. He had a three film deal with Nadiadwala which started with Heyy Babyy and ended with Housefull 2.”
Ask him why the announcement has coincided with the release and eventual failure of Himmatwala, he says “Sajid (Nadiadwala) has been busy with Kick, which will mark his directorial debut. Only now did he get time to even think about the next Housefull film. Sajid Khan himself is busy with two films for UTV and Vashu Bhagnani.”
There are also rumours of Rajkumar Santoshi directing Housefull 3 and 4. Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh have been retained, the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. The shooting is expecting to begin early next year.

Well, I’m afraid; I guess it’s Himmatwala’s failure that made Sajid Khan lose Houseful 3. But Just because 1 film failed it’s not fair for the producers to assume that all his future films will fail. Sajid so far has only 25% failure rate and 75% success rate.
The real fate of Himmatwala
Housefull 3 needed downsizing after having around a dozen stale actors essaying a dozen blink and you miss type roles in HF2. How ironic that by getting rid of fatso Sajid the downsize is 90% complete…! :-P
HF3 with Aki and sidekick Riteish will be a better film now with a sensible director in the chair.

@Anupama: better read the article again, its clearly mentioned that its nothing related to himmatwala, it was a 3 film deal which is completed, so dont stretch it like media does….
Well, there was a 3 film deal, but if Himmatwala had been a superhit, there would have been no question of Sajid not being signed again.
But now, that’s not the scenario, and no one will tell openly to media that the failure of Himmatwala was the reason, but it is clear that the film’s failure affected the decision of the producers.
I am happy that Rajkumar Santoshi is directing. Akshay will have a great time working with Santoshi, and i bet it will be far better than the first two installments.
Now am looking forward to the movie if Santoshi is directing.

No doubt sajid is a entertaining director, if aki do himatwala then it will sure blockbuster but ajay lost srk fans and sallu fans did’t interested to watch stupit massala film from any actor. And i hope aki sajid work again, best of luck for sajid for your next film with saif ali khan.

Himmatwala is failed due to worst direction of Sajid & his overconfidance.
And if we go according to your formula then Akki will loose Srk fans after clash of CE & OATIMA.

@justice you are a srk hater. Srk last blockbuster is rnbdj in 2008 and 4 year gone not 6. Last 3 films of srk underperformed but cross 200cr. Your hritic last bb d2 release 2006 and 7 year can’t give any bb and his no film cross 200cr till date. K3 will be another ra1 and ce will be another oso. Srk deepika rohit rock this eid 2013.
