Producer Ritesh Sidhwani has confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ will release during Eid 2016, even though Yash Raj Films’ has announced the same date for Salman Khan’s Sultan directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
“Speculation on #Raees release date! It all ends this Eid.. Chalo time for me to take a dip in the warm waters of #tenerife” Sidhwani tweeted.
The battle gets interesting because Shah Rukh Khan has NEVER lost a clash at the box office. The last time a SRK and Salman (with Akshay) film released together, Don vs Jaan-e-Mann, Don was the clear winner at the box office.
However, Salman wasn’t quite as big a megastar back in 2006 as he is now and was clearly going through a low phase for the most part of the 2000s. After the huge success of ‘Dabangg’, Salman has gone on to create history with each of his film releases. Apart from ‘Jai Ho’ all other films have been blockbusters i.e 6 blockbusters in 7 releases!
The fate of the big clash between ‘Raees’ and ‘Sultan’ will also depend on how their two films fare at the box office. If Salman’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ doesn’t work, YRF might back out and the same applies for ‘Dilwale’ too.

@sht there is nothing to worry for Aamir fans between clash of Sultan and Raees as I know only one film release on EID and that would be Sultan. Aamir came with Dangal on christmas which will outshine fan,raees and may be Mohanjodaro as it is film under AKP.
Now you talk about clash Aamir’s Lagaan release against Gadar which was a suicide but result in front of all as Gadar became an atbb and all time grosser, Lagaan became one of the biggest success story where zone was periodic drama. Srk was a superstar due to yef and dharma those days and when Asoka release srk last hits were Mohabbatein,KKHH and Dil to pagal hai. Aamir came after his last flops Mann,earth and Mela.
Srk was a superstar for 20 years and couldn’t tolerate clash against Sunny, you guys are saying that opening decide who us crowdpullar rather than lifetime collection.

If we talk about zober than why you guys bring Talaash, pk opening as the zoner was not universal and pk opened strongly in multiplex last year on non-holiday. Aamir films scored 20+ figure on normal weekday with d3 and pk where even CE was drop with 60% on 4th day of it release. So accept the failure as it was, my question was how can Indicine said Srk never lost in clash, it was. Regarding Jthj vs Sos, Jthj smashed Ajay devgan in overseas but that too because the name associate with JTHJ while Ajay has not much fan following in overseas but in India where the performance matters the most, sos which released 700 less screens collected just 10% less than jthj final figures. So sos is winner as Ajay devgan has beat an srk-yash-yrf-kat on diwali.

@sky u Amir fans look more funny than ever. When Oscar nominated Lagan did 1/3 of gadar then it is a big success story for lagaan but jthj did actually 10% more than SOS is failure. Wah. If jthj had 700 more print but SOS had more no of shows due to its length still lengthy and boring film did more than commertial masala film. And despite more no of print still accupency were higher. About KKHH vs BMCM former released half no of print in first week compare to BMCM but gross was just 5-10% less not twice the one u mesleading here (week one) but accupency was twice. Recent example is twmr and gabbar but difference is KKHH & BMCM opened bumper.
If Raees matches expectations then YRF are seriously gonna lose, SRK is the biggest actor in the country and he was only letdown by his directors lately.
Recent SRK films mostly got bad reception from all parts and still he is amongst top 3 biggest bankable stars of the b-town. No one could have made the horrible HNY a Super Hit but SRK! so if Raees turns out to be a great movie (as its supposed to be and that iam not sure about it till we see ourselves) so nothing can stop it even if it releases against the sequel of AAA!
