After releasing announcing ‘Krrish 4’ last week, Rakesh Roshan has clarified that he has no plans of releasing the film with Shah Rukh Khan and Aanand L Rai’s next.
Roshan said it would be ‘unethical’ to release his film on the same day as Shah Rukh had already announced his film.
“It is unethical for me to release my film on this date as Shah Rukh has already announced his movie”
However, the veteran filmmaker was quick to add that he will never move ‘Kaabil’, but said Shah Rukh is like a younger brother to him.
“I had announced the date for Kaabil earlier. If they are coming on the same date, then I can’t do anything about it. I don’t know what they will eventually decide. We’re here to make films, not create controversies. As far as Shah Rukh is concerned, he’s like a younger brother to me. I gave him a break in King Uncle, and then worked with him in Karan Arjun and Koyla.”
Roshan also gave the example of ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ a film that marked the debut of Hrithik Roshan, which released a week after Aamir’s Mela and a week before Shah Rukh’s Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani – and went on to outgross both films at the box office.
“I don’t move my release date, if I have announced it first. When Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai was releasing on January 14, 2000, Aamir Khan’s Mela was coming on January 7, Shah Rukh’s Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani on January 21 and Anil Kapoor’s Pukar on February 4. Some distributors suggested I move my film as Hrithik was a newcomer. They left the film because I didn’t change my release date.”
That’s something very intelligent of you Sir… Generous yet firm !.. Till now it seemed to be a very lousy announcement regarding K4 release as there’s no script… But you have shown the magnanimity by putting all the wagging tongues at rest…
He is playing mind-games with SRK.
But RAEES announced first for EID before SULTAN & BADSHAHO announced first for Republic Day before KAABIL.
Even SLB announced PADMAVATI before TIGER ZINDA HAI, BAJIRAO MASTANI announced before DILWALE, JAB TAK HAI JAAN announced before SON OF SARDAAR; MOHENJO DARO announced first before RUSTOM.
Clashes are part of the industry.

Of recent years the only person Shah Rukh Khan can point finger and tell him he overshadowed him by distance when both their movie clashed is Akshay Kumar. If not Srk hardly wins any clash and henceforth I see the writing on the wall,if he is to clash with any A+ hero then it is a sorry situation for him. Hrithik will always remain confident clash or not clash remember MD loss was because of poor promotion,media and most especially Bollywood insider negativity if not there’s no way Rustam would have affected MD that much.
Both Raees and Kaabil deserves and needs a solo release.But morally Kaabil should come solo on 26th January.But if both releases on the same day Raees will have an upper hand.Still can’t get over the terrific teaser of Raees.It could be a game changer for Srk.

This mess is created by raees producers as there is no logic of announcing raees on 26th jan when kaabil was already announced ,they should learn from RR ,when he came 2 know that srk’s film announced on dec 2018 ,he immediately shifted k4 .

There is huge difference between 2000 and 2016 … It is right that u had announced the release date first but it doesn’t mean SRK intentionally postponed it just to clash with your film …
Even if sultan had been postponed they would have come on the same date ..
