Rajneeti Box office : Could cross 100 crores!

Rajneeti has been rock steady through the weekdays. The figures are mind-boggling, which just goes to show that the three other biggies this year – Kites, MNIK and Housefull – underperformed at the box office.

With weekend collections touching close to

34 crores, the film directed by Prakash Jha has netted around 17.5 crores on Monday (6.5 crores approx), Tuesday (6 crores approx) and Wednesday (5 crores) taking its 6 day total to more than 50 crores! For a film like Rajneeti, an average of Rs 8 crores per day in Week 1 is simply mind blowing.

Now, with the per day All-India capacity touching close to 18 crores (nett), anything less than 50 crores (nett) for any big release in Week 1 would be considered disappointing.

Can Rajneeti touch or even cross the 100 crore mark? Quite possible, although there is a biggie Raavan (Abhishek – Aishwarya) lined up for release next weekend (18th June). Week 1 collections are expected to be around 55 crores and Week 2 even with a 50% drop could be in the range of 25 – 28 crores.

Verdict: Superhit – Blockbuster

  • ravan s verdict will be out soon .. it is preposterous to think that it will be a good film … like always the big ones like indicine will give it 3.5 rating to pull in the crowds and help the bachchans .. and yet the film will be sicko when i go to see it..

this time for a change can indicine can be minutely critical of the film and give us the foair review as to why raavan was a bad film???

  • everone has panned the ajay and his mother confrontationa as badly scripted and enacted and yet you say the over the top scenes have worked for you???
i think u want to stand by your review and do not want to hear the true voices…
how can anything that is over the top be called cinematic artistry.. how can blatant copy of godfather scene be called fair???
i hope by now it has flopped???

  • Hi megha, why r u being so irritated… If u hav not liked it den dont watch it… In fact u can stop watching Prakash Jha’s films… why r u forcing ur opinion on others… There r a few people who hav not liked it.. But they r outnumbered by the people who hav LIKED it… I personally did not like VEER, MNIK, Houseful n KITES… but does that matter… VEER was above AVERAGE, MINK n HOUSEFUL wer declared a HIT… And RAJNEETI has already declared a BLOCKBUSTER so der is no question of it FLOPPING… It is going to become the THIRD highest grosser ever( without Adjustment )… So plz stop wasting ur energy by declaring it a FLOP as it is already a BLOCKBUSTER… Otherwise u ll b making a fool of urself… bye take care… No hard feelings… Just n Advice

  • hi megha this review is biased and full of prejudice this writer hasnot watched the movie so how can he comment on something he has not seen
listen megha the most thing i hate in this world is prejudice and preconception because they are alwways wrong the german philospher kant spent 11 YEARS trying to make his dissetation on pure mind so that he can save reason ina way to get rid of prejudice

    the sentence
Rizwan’s death saw the police commissioner punished and cover stories written by missionary writers.
proves that he hasnt seen MNIK
    rizwan doesnt die at all
also in the film srk says on the tongue of rizwan
whosoever kills anyone he killed the whole human beings and whosoever jogged/ live up anyone he liven up the mankind all
this is koran/ the holly book
so this shows that islam is innocent of the ones who kill people with no reason

and what happened to mr kaul is one specific specimen not to all groups or ethnicities
whereas what happening to muslims is predominant
hi megha ihope you are not mrs kaul also
    but mrs cool
