One of India’s best directors, Rajkumar Hirani, has come out in support of the much-criticised Censor Board of Film Certification, saying they are “doing their job”.
The ‘PK’ director also said the CBFC did not have a problem with the word ‘Saala’ and requested only one small cut.
“I did not face any issue with Censor Board over Saala Khadoos. They did not have problem with the word Saala as well. In fact they told me that unlike the usual impression, we see the context in which the word is used. There was one cut that we had to make and it was a snide comment about a woman with an “itch between her legs”. Which I agreed to do. Censor is doing their job and I don’t see any harm in them asking us to cut the objectionable portions.” the director said.
