Maharashtra Navnirman Sena supremo Raj Thackeray slammed his good friend and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan over his remarks that “Pakistani artists are not terrorists” and they should be allowed to work in India because they have a valid visa and work permit.
“It has happened a lot of times, Salman Khan’s tubelight flickers sometimes.. we should understand one thing, the people who are fighting on the border.. they do not have any personal hatred against soldiers from Pakistan, do they? They are dying there, bullets are hitting them and the bullets that they are taking on their bodies.. are not filmy bullets, when Salman gets hit by a bullet.. he gets up after that”
“The Pakistani stars who were here, we gave them a 48-hour ultimatum after which they left. We asked them, do you want to condemn the attacks on the army.. they said, they can’t.. we are Pakistanis” the MNS chief added.
Thackeray also questioned why the industry needs to work with Pakistani actors when we have enough and more talent in our own country.
“Are we short of artists in our country? Why do we need Pakistani artists to work in our films? I don’t understand” Thackeray said.
“Jawans are fighting for us at borders. What’ll happen if they decide to put down their weapons? Who’ll guard the borders? Salman Khan?”
“These artistes should realise ‘Nation first’. If they have so much problem, we will ban their movies too” Thackeray said at a press conference.
The reactions come after the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association passed a resolution to ban Pakistani actors from the industry in the wake of the Uri attack.
Thackeray and Salman share a warm relationship. The MNS chief visited Salman before the verdict to his hit-and-run case and also makes it a point to visit Salman’s bandra residence during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

Every actor has the right to express his opinion; Salman’s tone or words were neither strong nor illogical. If you don’t like such soft and sensible comments just ignore what he said.
I usually don’t support MNS but here i can’t support Salman. Few points :
1. None of Pakistan actors who earn money by working in India condemned Uri attacks. They had time to condemn even Orlando attacks in US but no word regarding Uri
2. Art, Sports etc. are important but not during war-like situation. Nation comes first. It is almost war-like situation currently. Pakistan defence minister threatened to use nukes…What if he uses on Mumbai…Only then will Bhai understand, is it ? When his ass vaporises in air in minutes…The point is no one talks about using nukes openly like Pakistan….US today criticized Pak for the same highlighting the fact countries with nukes need to be responsible
3. For God’s sake, show loyalty to people who make your rich…Countless attacks by Pak terrorists in India…Salman for God sake stand for your country and people…If Fawad can stand for his country and not a word, why is he rushing to show support ? Work permit was given prior to Uri..things change
4. There is a reason why SAARC summit has been cancelled…Even neighbours understand the gravity of situation including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Afghanistan…Our own people, don’t, is it ?
5. Till when will you give excuses art is above everything…Army forces died in real…will your films ease the pain ? Get real !
And yes, Raees should be boycotted for sure…In future if Salman wants to cast someone from Pakistan, even his film should be…Dilwale was impacted by ban…ask SRK your friend about this…So get real…I dont have anything eprsonally against any bollywood star but they need to figure out their loyalty – are they with India or Pak ?

Bollywood playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has criticised superstar Salman Khan for questioning the campaign against Pakistani artistes working in India. He also accused the actor of being “ashamed to show loyalty to India” and supporting terrorism.
Bhattacharya’s comments have emerged a day after Salman expressed his views about the “ultimatum” issued by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the “ban” by Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) on Pakistani artistes from working in Indian showbiz.
Salman said on Friday: “They are artistes. What do you think… Are artistes terrorists? They come to India with visa. Who gives them the visa? Our (Indian) government gives them visa. The government gives them work permit.”
Bhattacharya on Saturday tweeted: “Pakistani and Indian artists have one thing common, both enjoy India’s money, love, fame and both are anti-India anti-Indian Army #SalmanKhan. Fawad Khan shows true patriotism towards his country Pakistan, whilst Bollywood’s Salman Khan is ashamed to show loyalty to India.”
The singer also claimed Salman is busy shooting films with Pakistan talent, and doesn’t pay any heed to the issues of the country.
He posted: “Super stars don’t watch news of #UriAttack #Pakistan killing, shooting, butchering Indians, they are busy too.. shooting with Pakis”.
When a social media user hailed his views, he went to dig into Salman’s infamous 2002 hit-and-run case.
Bhattacharya posted: “Because of our law machinery, Salman Khan is roaming free and supporting terrorism.”
MNS had issued a 48-hour ultimatum on September 23 to all Pakistani cine and television artistes to leave India. The ban came after the September 18 terror attack that killed 19 Indian soldiers in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.
Then, IMPPA also announced it has decided to ban Pakistani artistes and technicians from working in India until the hostilities between the two countries subside.
Salman’s views on the issue snowballed into a controversy with MNS President Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut condemning it.
Raut said that veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan should keep his son Salman under house arrest, adding that the Bollywood superstar “blabbers” because no one in his family has ever died for the country.
Thackeray said “these artistes (Salman) should realise ‘Nation first’. If they have so many problems, we will ban their movies too”.
In a new development, it was reported that all Indian channels were banned in Pakistan by Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA). A few cinema halls in Pakistan have already decided against releasing any Indian movies.
