Raj Thackeray slams Salman Khan, threatens to ban his films too if he has a problem

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena supremo Raj Thackeray slammed his good friend and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan over his remarks that “Pakistani artists are not terrorists” and they should be allowed to work in India because they have a valid visa and work permit.

“It has happened a lot of times, Salman Khan’s tubelight flickers sometimes.. we should understand one thing, the people who are fighting on the border.. they do not have any personal hatred against soldiers from Pakistan, do they? They are dying there, bullets are hitting them and the bullets that they are taking on their bodies.. are not filmy bullets, when Salman gets hit by a bullet.. he gets up after that”

“The Pakistani stars who were here, we gave them a 48-hour ultimatum after which they left. We asked them, do you want to condemn the attacks on the army.. they said, they can’t.. we are Pakistanis” the MNS chief added.

Thackeray also questioned why the industry needs to work with Pakistani actors when we have enough and more talent in our own country.

“Are we short of artists in our country? Why do we need Pakistani artists to work in our films? I don’t understand” Thackeray said.

“Jawans are fighting for us at borders. What’ll happen if they decide to put down their weapons? Who’ll guard the borders? Salman Khan?”

“These artistes should realise ‘Nation first’. If they have so much problem, we will ban their movies too” Thackeray said at a press conference.

The reactions come after the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association passed a resolution to ban Pakistani actors from the industry in the wake of the Uri attack.

Thackeray and Salman share a warm relationship. The MNS chief visited Salman before the verdict to his hit-and-run case and also makes it a point to visit Salman’s bandra residence during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
