Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan visited his good-friend Salman Khan on the sets of his upcoming film ‘Sultan’. The two continue to be good friends and have had only positive things to say about each other, even though SRK’s Raees is all set to take on Salman’s Sultan at the box office during Eid this year.
Sources say, Shah Rukh was shooting for Raees when he got to know that Salman is also shooting for Sultan nearby. The actor decided to make a surprise visit to the sets of YRF’s Sultan.
The source added that Salman showed a few scenes from Sultan, which SRK liked and even gave a few suggestions. The two were also spotted joking around and discussing a particular scene from Sultan.
Meanwhile, the last leg of Raees shoot is currently on and the film would be wrapped up soon.
Shah Rukh plays the role of a Gujarati don, while Salman will be seen playing a wrestler. Both characters will be based on real-life characters.
While the audience and trade is warming up to what is being touted as the ‘mother of all box office clashes’, the two stars are not only sharing a warm relationship, but are even promoting each others films.
The theatrical teaser of Sultan will be attached to the prints of FAN, which releases in theatres on April 15.
Both Raees and Sultan are scheduled to hit theatres in the first week of July this year.

The first festival release of the year is finally here and it’s Salman Khan who yet again returns during the auspicious weekend of Eid, to re-establish his supremacy at the box office.
Quite a few big films have released in the first half of 2015, but it was Varun Dhawan’s ‘ABCD 2’ that took the biggest opening so far this year. The current record of Rs 14.3 crore set by ‘ABCD 2’ is likely to be doubled by ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.
A quick look at the opening day figures of Eid releases in the last few years, reveals that the year-on-year growth was staggering between 2010 to 2012, but has slowed down in the last couple of years. Do note that all films, except last year’s KICK, released on or after the Eid holiday.
2010: Dabangg (1800 screens) – 14.5 crore
2011: Bodyguard (2250 screens) – 21 crore (45% growth)
2012: Ek Tha Tiger (3300 screens) – 32.9 crore (56% growth)
2013: Chennai Express (3700 screens) – 33.12 crore (0.6% growth)
2014: Kick (4000 screens) – 26.52 cr (20% drop. Pre Eid)
KICK released on a working day, during Ramadan, when majority of muslim audience don’t watch films in theatres. The benefit of a holiday, as per our estimates, is around 35% . So Salman’s last Eid release cannot really be compared with films that released between 2010-2013.
Moving on to this year’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, the film is set for a huge opening at the box office tomorrow and the advance booking is by far the best for films released this year.
As part of IndicineFBO, our opening day predictions of films, we expect Bajrangi Bhaijaan to collect around 30-31 crore on Day 1. If the film does manage to collect 30 crore+ on its first day, it will be considered outstanding because of two reasons. One, like last year’s Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan too is releasing on a working day during the Ramadan period. Secondly, last week’s Telugu film ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ is on a historic run at the box office. The strong hold of the film during the weekdays, has meant that exhibitors have given the film enough number of shows this week too. In circuits like Andhra/Nizam and Mysore, ‘Baahubali’ will definitely affect the collections of the Salman Khan starrer.

Bahubali definitely give some fight to Bajrangi bhaijaan if we talk for all india. For BB I have already said that this will be highest grosser of the year, the little girl harshali will steal the show. Will be remembered best film of Salman in recent times.
I don’t think 30cr first day is tough, it is sure that as per trade figure the first weekend record of 102 cr all India will be broken by BB. First weekend will be close to 165-170 cr. Lifetime will be 250cr+. All figures for trade as I believe trade figures.
Will watch it possibly on Sunday.

My Dilwale prediction :
Opening day : 22-26 CR
Opening weekend : 75-85 CR
Lifetime :
Best case scenario : 225-235 CR
Ideal case scenario : 205-215 CR
Worst case scenario : 185-195 CR
Anything below 185 CR will be a disappointment for me. At the same time, anything above 235 CR will be a bonus.
Also, Dilwale is set to create few new records with CLASH.
Currently, these records are held by Hrithik’s Bang Bang, if I’m not wrong.
Though Dilwale’s opponent is not as weak as Haider, still I believe it will own the records of lifetime and opening weekend (with CLASH).
This is my first and final prediction.

@Hamza Khan, assumption or not, doesn’t matter. If Diwale collects less than 150 crore, it’ll be perceived to be an under performer. Shah Rukh making profits or not, wouldn’t really matter. It doesn’t only become a case of him making profits.. exhibitors, sub-distributors and trade in general have certain expectations from big films like Dilwale. We are talking about big films and big stars here. It has to do 170 crore plus at the very least.
