The Mumbai Terror attacks had severely affected box-office collections all over India. All the 6 odd movies that released post the 26/11 attacks were box office disasters. Then came arguably the year’s biggest release. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi directed by Aditya Chopra starring King Khan himself.
A lot was at stake and several questions would be answered on the day.
– It was SRK’s first release in over an year. It is a close battle at the top between SRK and Akshay Kumar. If SRK slips with Rab Ne, Akshay Kumar would be the undisputed King of the box-office.
– It’s been a rough couple of years for Bollywood’s biggest production house. Yashraj Films last hit was Chak De India with SRK.
– And finally the biggest question of them all. Would the terror attacks dent the box office collections of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi?
The answer to the last question is a resounding No. But for the year’s biggest release, the opening wasn’t quite earth shattering as it was expected to be. The reason for which could be the poor pre release promotion and hype.
But thankfully, the movie has picked up big time after a slow start of 50% on Friday morning. The afternoon shows itself showed a spike and the evening and night shows at major multiplexes were full. Saturday and Sunday the movie picked up further registering fantastic collections all over India.
However the response (word of mouth) is mixed. For many, the movie has failed to live upto the huge expecations they had from the DDLJ team. Surinder Sahni has been widely appreciated while the character of Raj has received mixed reactions. Anushka Chopra has been praised for her dancing skills and screen presence.
Overall, Box office wise, as always Monday is most crucial. If it sustains on the weekdays, Shahrukh Khan and Yashraj Films will have yet another successful outing together!

srk is the bestest. He’s not got the title”king khan” just for fun. rab ne bana di jodi is defffffffinitely the best movie of the year. Ghajini is an expectation shatterer. If any 8 pack comes in the way of our king he’ll
get shattered by our own Suri. SRK is the undisputed king of bollywood. No more contradictory comments.

this film is quite awful. a huge dissapointment for a shah rukh khan film. only reason why the film has done well is because of the star power of shah rukh.
srk is a real superstar actor,we ll find either a superstar r an actor.but SRK has all kinds of resource in him,so its quite obvious dat srk simply the best
