After Kites, Raavan is all set to be yet another set-back for Anil Ambani’s Reliance Big Pictures, as the film that was at-worst expected to be a decent one time watch, has shocked both the trade and the audience.
The opening weekend numbers are poor. The film has collected Rs 17 crores in its first weekend, comparatively Raajneeti in its 2nd weekend did close to 17 crores of business. The word-of-mouth is poor and the film is expected to fold up under 35 – 40 crores nett (lifetime business).
The failure of Raavan is likely to affect Abhishek the most, as not only has the film under-performed at the box office, but his performance too has been heavily criticized. Who would have thought Abhishek, who has previously excelled under Mani Ratnam (Yuva, Guru), would deliver one of his worst performances in Raavan?

Yousif: but why Mohabbetain? there’s one message in this romantic movie ( loved this movie and admired bigb’s tough character, did just a great work!) the message is that u can’t only follow yr brain and forbid the most beautiful thing in this world which called (love) and stop ppl from falling in love coz that’s humen’s nature, ppl weren’t born in this world as a machine needing only to eat, work and sleep, we all need to love and to be loved, and Shahrukh won trying to prove that for bigb and let him at the end admit that he was wrong.. a beautiful story, a well directed movie and with very nice songs and scenes.. when this movie released and then after a year or few month Kabhi khoshi Kabhi Ghum was released, I didn’t like K333 because I felt it was a mixture of Mohabbetain and KKHH and bigb was repeating his character again!!

the story of mohabbatein is the story of generation gap and generation conflict between two generations one of big b and the other of srk and another one of the three boys
in the first stage srk lost the fight by his lady love committing suicide
and in ths second stage he retun with his team trio to fight again

theree are tow types of respects:
one out of fear this is ephemeral and depends on the existence of the respect of the reverened one in front of r yes so that you cant do the things he dislikes or become disoobedient to them this type is transient andf ennds as soon as the respected one is away so that we do all the things forbidden in his absence this represented in the film by the fear of thes choolboys toward their headmaster big naryan shankarin that they fear to request having parties gathering with the girls etc
and the other type of respect is represented by srk as raj aryan to whom they respect out of love either he is present or absent they willl always do thing which please him and they wont do thing s which he hate them to do while he is absent
so the whole story is speaking about the fight btween these two typesof respect and it tries to show that the respect of love is better than the respect of fear
in fact this philososphical moral lesson you wont get even in immanuel kant the ethical philosopher books its so interesting that aditya and srk did bring it to life

Yousif: I can tell u exactly what I learnt from any movie if I saw it recently but if I saw it a few years ago.. can’t rememer everything about the movie. DDLJ was a good story, some nice songs but it wasn’t a great movie which makes it the most successful indian movie ever!! ( can u believe that it’s still showing in one of the cinemas in India?) was released maybe 12 years ago or more.. that really surprises me.. why indian ppl loved specifically this movie and KKHH is a much better movie than DDLJ, even Mohabbetain is a better movie!)
What I remember about DDLJ or what the movie wanted to say to the audience is that the success in life, in relationships, in winning hearts, ppl around you is not measured by the success at school, college and gettings degrees or whatever.. it’s the way you treat ppl. Shahrukh although was a failure at school, wasn’t interested in studying and getting good marks but he was no. 1 in winning ppl’s heart and respect.. that’s the lesson.
