The release date of Indian actress Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood debut ‘Baywatch’ has been set as May 19, 2017. The film’s principal photography has already begun, Paramount Pictures has announced.
The American studio made the announcement on Friday via a statement, adding that the movie will be shot in Miami and Savannah.
‘Baywatch’ is the film version of the popular 1990s TV series of the same name. And Priyanka, who has garnered success on the international fiction TV space with “Quantico”, will be seen in a negative role in the movie.
The film has an eclectic star cast with names like Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
“Horrible Bosses” fame director Seth Gordon is directing the film from a screenplay written by Damian Shannon, Mark Swift and Barry Schwartz.
Beau Flynn, Ivan Reitman, Michael Berk, Doug Schwartz and Greg Bonann, creators of the iconic “Baywatch” television series, are producing the venture.
“Baywatch” follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Johnson) as he headbutts with a brash new recruit (Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay. And Priyanka is on board to play the bad guy in the film.
The film will be released in India by Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

The popularity of Priyanka outside India is increasing day by day . She started singing and her singles got a fabulous response outside India . Then she did Quantico in which she is playing the main role . To get work in Hollywood TV Series is not a small thing and now she is doing Baywatch with Dwayne Johnson . She is playing the negative role which means she is not in a supporting role nor in a cameo . It is great to see the journey of Priyanka with Aitraaz, Krrish, Fashion, 7 Khoon Maaf, Kaminey, What’s Your Raashee, Barfi, Agneepath, Mary Kom and Bajirao Mastani . Hollywood film’s Box Office collection is not Actor dominant if film score good Rotten Tomatoes score & caters some interesting Trailer & promos & so film will open well & then all depends on WOM.

I never cared to watch Baywatch TV series, it was too boring for me. I’m surprised that PC signed this movie, as she was doing some good movies in Bollywood lately.
Star cast looks good, Dwayne is one of the biggest names, Alexandra Daddario is beautiful, PC is talented and Zac Efron is.. well Zac Efron.
