Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has recorded similar collections as Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year on Day 2 at the box office. The Hindi version of the film has collected Rs 31.03 crore and the Telugu/Tamil business (figures of which hasn’t been officially released) should take the total to around the 31.7 crore mark.
The drop in business of PRDP is lower than Happy New Year, even though the SRK starrer had the advantage of Day 2 being a Saturday.
Day 3 will be interesting because HNY couldn’t take advantage of a big holiday on Sunday. If PRDP can put up similar collections on Saturday, as HNY did on Sunday, it’ll be a good weekend trend for the film.

@Indicine the real reason that I have following your site from last 3 years, I have going through the changes when trade figures were sidelining with official one. You made my trust among manipulate figures when you said the CE didn’t broken ett first day but they made it happen with 33.1cr figure to gain media limelight.
Than came k3 where your first day estimate was 17cr which even lower than BOI trade figures of 18cr but official came with 25.2cr.
Most of the time your estimates are close to actual whether it match with trade or official.
CE time your estimation was 29cr and official came 33cr, while at ETT time your estimate was 31cr but actual came from official 32.9cr. I can definitely believe that your sources failed to track actual numbers if it happen every big films but why it Happened with CE,HNY and k3 time why not you failed with Bajrangi Bhaijaan,D3,PK and even prdp. Deeply inside you know that figures are manipulate by producers.
It hurts when you avoid to show real facts for SRK films but you doesn’t take step backward with Akki films likes of Ouatimd and Baby.

Bajrangi bhaijan record as hgoty is quite possible safe due to the clash of dilwale and prdp’s negative wom.. As a srk fan, i would love to see dilwale do a mamooth business of INR 400cr but it seems impossible to touch INR 300cr. If my expection become false and dilwale exceeds my expectation then i shall be the most happiest man.

Collections are good but 1 thing is for sure that this film will be nowhere close to Bajrangi bhaijaan in terms of lifetime business..the weekend trend will give a clear picture whether it can cross 250 crore or not.
