Preity Zinta on spot-fixing in the IPL

Preity ZintaIn a state of shock after the spot fixing scandal that has hit the Indian Premiere League, Bollywood actress and Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta said that if the charges against the tainted trio are true, then it is really sad for the game of cricket and IPL.

“Look, I’d still like to give the accused (Sreesanth and the two other players) the benefit of the doubt. But if the allegations are true, then it’s really really sad for the country, for cricket and for the IPL.”

“As owners, a lot of faith is placed on these players. I don’t think they’ve any business of betraying us like this. If the allegations are true then let me tell you the BCCI is going to take very stern against all the players who were involved. At the same time, we can’t write off the game just because there might be some rotten eggs in the basket.”

Once a member of the Kings XI Punjab team, Sreesanth was signed by the Kochi Tuskers, before he joined the Rajasthan Royals in 2012.

  • I dont think ipl matches are fixed due to various reasons
    1. Cricket betting in ipl wont exist if all matches are fixed already
    2. Gentlemens like Sunil gavaskar (commentator), sachin tendulkar, Rahul dravid wont be part of the ipl then
    3. Last year 5 cricketers has been banned by BCCI for spot fixing and this year again 3 player are under threat. This won’t happen if all the ipl matches are fixed.
    4. Almost 6 ipl seasons are over and more than 400 matches r been played and still millions of people are watching it with utmost sincerely.
    5. Indian peoples are watching cricket for decades, they are emotional but not fools.. IF the matches are fixed then they would have figured out with 2 or 3 matches.
Those people who dont watch cricket are against ipl. They want to make everyone like them.
