Salman Khan’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ (PRDP) and Sunny Deol’s ‘Ghayal Once Again’ are set for a mega clash at the box office during the festival of lights.
Produced and directed by Sunny himself, ‘Ghayal Once Again’ is now confirmed to release in theatres in the second week of November, on the same day as the Sooraj Barjatya – Salman Khan film.
While PRDP is likely to be a typical Barjatya film with family values and traditions, ‘Ghayal Once Again’ is likely to appeal to the masses who love action films.
‘Ghayal’ was one of the most popular films of 1990. The Rajkumar Santoshi film had all the commercial elements for a masala potboiler and Sunny has promised to retain all the elements that made the first film a big success.

In a way, history could be repeating itself. 3 years ago, a romantic film ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ starring the biggest superstars in the country, clashed with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Son Of Sardaar’. While ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ did well at the box office, ‘Son Of Sardaar’ provided tough competition and probably went on to be a bigger success at the domestic box office.
However, Ajay is one of the top stars in the industry, while Sunny Deol has faded away in recent times. It’ll be interesting to see if Sunny can take on the might of Salman at the box office, because clashes against big films can sometimes work in favour of smaller films. ‘Son Of Sardaar’ got plenty of hype and media coverage because of ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ and so did ‘Haider’ last year when UTV decided to release their film against Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Bang Bang’.
A normal release for ‘Ghayal Once Again’ would have meant that the film would rely on word-of-mouth, but releasing against a Salman Khan film will ensure that the film stays in news, comparisons between the promos of the two films will be made and the audience will be well aware of the fact that the two films are releasing together. Also, Sunny still commands a good fan-following in North India – especially in circuits like Delhi/UP and East Punjab.

Prdp will turn a big disappointment whether it get solo release or clash with ghayel2, bajrangi bhaijaan will be huge but it can’t be kick or ce. DILWALE will be the highest grosser of 2015, mark my words.
A fan of Ghayal. But that was Rajkumar Santoshi directing it. This time Sunny is directing, which is a huge challenge.
The film will get good opening, but if the direction fails, then it will go down very fast after weekend.
Its still early times to tell whether it will release with PRDP as there could be change of minds, as we have been seeing lately.

we queen srk’s fans are mighty happy that PRDP & GOA are clashing at the B.O , PRDP will be a mega disaster & GOA will be an atbb like our queen’s sequel movie DON 2 , oh sorry DON 2 was just a hit na , so GOA will also be a hit then as we don’t want any sequel movie to earn more than DON 2, so we are predicting that PRDP will be a mega disaster & will only earn 3 crores in India & 70 lakhs overseas but sunny’s GOA will do 230 crores in India & 72 lakhs overseas but wait a minute, oh no we are predicting more than our queen’s highest grossing movie ce so we will change the prediction , ok GOA will do 219 crores in India . oops oh no our queen’s magnum opus classic hny collected much less na , so we will re do the predictions so that GOA wouldn’t earn more than my queen’s flops as well.

Interesting Clash.
Due to Diwali families will prefer PRDP, and no doubt due to current boxoffice power PRDP will take huge start as compare to GOA. But after 3 days all depends on contents and quality of the movie. As now a days content driven movies appreciated well.
after 3 days i think GOA will manage to do better business then PRDP. Also from the “On Set Pics” of PRDP movie is looking out dated if u compare it to now a days films set up.
But no one can deny the Fact that PRDP is a The Raj Shiri’s movie directed by Suraj. But at the same time we cant deny the fact same Suraj delivered a duds like HSSH & MPKDH. But he again shows his power with Vivaah (Blockbuster) with almost youngsters.
Its also a fact that Deols looses their charm at BO. But again Contents are real King. So fingers crossed.
One thing is very clear that Sunny Deol is a One brave actor. He done that many time in the past. He never afraid of Clashes as compared to 2 of Big Khans who always wanted to release their movies during festive holidays with 3 to 4 weeks free.
Will be really interesting to see when it happens.

The poll result is hilarious as 47% votes went in favor of GOA, we have to see those non Salman fans were saying that they will watch GOA over PRDP seriously give their attendance in halls for GOA, there is a huge suspension when most of those fans among 3.7 billion skip their favs films from long time that he able to reach 3.7 billion mark ww once that too in 2013 with CE.I have no objection to say that GOA will struggled against Prdp.
Sunny Deol has been my one of favorite actor because of his superb films like Ghayal,betaab,ghatak,gadar,ziddi,jeet,border etc.
There is nothing bad to clash with PRDP though it will dent some collections but prdp mostly appeals family’s so they won’t move for GOA.
I will watch PRDP for sure.

Ghayal may start on a good note…but as it will be a masala flick, it will fade away after the first weekend.

One thing is for sure that Sunny Deol is very brave man,who , unlike big actors, is releasing his movie with superstar Salman Khan. If we see the history, Sunny has clashed his movies with big actors many times before and all his films did very well, for example, Gaddar vs Lagaan, Ghayal vs Dil. I believe this time too, both the films will do good business in fact GOA can surpass PRDP. If PRDP is big film, GOA will also be very expensive film. Hollywood stunt coordinator Dan Bradley, who has worked on movies like The Bourne Legacy, Panic Room and Independence Day, has bee hired for this movie. GOA script has been written by Tigmanshu Dhulia who has written movies such as Dil Se, Gangs of Wasseypur, Paan Singh Tomar.
No doubt, Salman Khan has huge fan following, Sunny Deol still enjoys big fan following. As Sunny is the original action hero, I think GOA will certainly bring around Salman’s fans who like action movies.
