Salman Khan has said, his Diwali 2015 release ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, which marked his reunion with director Sooraj Barjatya, should have performed better than the biggest grosser of his career ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.
Hinting that he probably expected the film to perform better than it did, Salman said he wished Sooraj got more happiness from PRDP.
“Sooraj should have got more happiness from ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. I think it should have done better than ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ for Sooraj because he worked really hard. It was a beautiful story of a brother-sister” Salman said on the sidelines of the Zee Cine Awards.
Released in November last year, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo collected Rs 210 crore at the domestic box office. His Eid release, Bajrangi Bhaijaan went on to be the second highest grosser of all time, amassing Rs 321 crore from India alone.
PRDP also featured Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Swara Bhaskar. It was Sooraj and Salman’s first film in 16 years and their 4th film together after Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain.
if any other actor was in prdp I bet it had not crossed even 125 cr.n released just after 4 months of BB it collected dis much n became 2nd highest grosser of year.dats really a Gud achievement.

History good, but tightened. Game in soccer was unnatural. Big minus – Sonam Kapoor. There was no chemistry between Sonam and Salman. She isn’t the heroine of the novel. She very not natural.
Salman is a family man and he loves doing movies which based on family that’s why he wants PRDP to earn more business than Bajrangi Bhaijaan…..but some idiots will not understand this because for them movie like Darr, Don, Anjaam and all other vulgar based movies (where hero try to get another man’s wife by threating her and his family) are better than a family movie…IDIOTS..

He is complaining once again after not winning awards because he knows that acting and box office is not his cup of tea. His illiterate fans are talking about stardom but they forget that Salman has given more than 50 flops in his career and all his so called blockbusters only came after masala movies became popular and that trend was started by REAL MEGASTAR AAMIR KHAN. Salman is never close to aamir in stardom or popularity.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was an average movie..Bajrangi bhaijaan was way way better than this film..but still it has managed to cross 200 crore and emerge a super hit is a great achievement in itself

It was Sooraj’s worst (if we discount his MPKDH harakiri !)…
All the morons are questioning Bhai’s script sense and PRDP content haven’t read the article completely. It was clearly mentioned what Bhai said- “I think it should have done better than ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ for Sooraj because he worked really hard.”
BB was far superior movie than PRDP. I understand why Salman wants it this way due to his association from the start with Rajeshri Films. If the movie’s story line was more interesting, tighter screenplay, bigger character sketch and villain, it would have done better. To equal BB means you have a masterpiece and those only come once a year!

According to you PRDP, Kick and HNY would have badly struggled without festival dates. In the same way, k3 bong bong etc would have struggled to go past even 100cr without rakeshji’s calculator and festival dates.

PRDP was a good story but Sooraj did not directed it as per today’s generation expectation. He is still stuck in 90’s but still not a bad movie either. I would rate PRDP above Ready, Dabangg 2 and ETT (though comparisons are not valid due to genre difference) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
