Shoojit Sircar’s Piku has collected Rs 25.22 crore in its first weekend at the domestic box office, which is outstanding considering the fact that the film collected just Rs 5.32 crore on its opening day.
‘Piku’ has proved yet again that content is the absolute king when it comes to films performing well at the multiplexes. If the word-of-mouth is good, people are willing to come out in big numbers to watch a film.
The average collections on Saturday and Sunday is nearly 10 crore, which is almost double of Friday. The film is now set for a good run at the box office, but still has a long way to go before it can recover costs.

The release of ‘Bombay Velvet’ later this week, could make a huge difference to how ‘Piku’ fares in the long run. If the Ranbir Kapoor starrer does well at the box office, then the business of ‘Piku’ will be affected. But if ‘Bombay Velvet’ turns out to be a bad film, then ‘Piku’ will be the first choice for movie-goers next week too.

The early trends n collections by BOI,KRK which are usually much less than the actuals are significantly higher than the coll. which r coming out..
Everyone was saying 6crs on 2nd sunday but final coll. surprises everyone n comes out as 4.50crs.
Anurag Kashyap is behind BV so don’t think it will be a bad film, however the problem i am afraid of is a missing soul!
PIKU is one of the best movies in 2015 which i saw and enjoyed.

The weekend collections of Piku are outstanding to say the least . I saw Piku yesterday it is a Awesome movie . I watched the Evening Show and it was Housefull . Family audiences came in huge numbers to watch the movie . This movie proves that Shoojit Sircar is one of the Best Directors of Bollywood . He has given 3 Awesome movies – Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe and Piku . The only thing i did not liked was the abrupt ending . According to me the ending should have been better . With this movie Deepika proves that she has become a Matured actress . She has given brilliant performances in YJHD, CE, Ram Leela and now Piku is one more feather in her cap . Big B he is a living legend and at the age of 72 he is still going strong . Irrfan has given a Classy performance and he was the most entertaining thing in the movie . Piku is one of the Best Movies of 2015 . I think Piku will continue to do good business even in the 2nd Week .
@babaji ki gabbar dude Akki is trying to manipulate us but Viacom told him that they don’t mislead the audience but you know your akki is flop actor and he doesn’t have anything to lose that is why his PR r trying to give fake collections.
Gabbars reall collection s 66 cr n it will settle around 70 cr.
madras cafe by same director (which wasn’t as good a film) opened at 21cr 2 years ago yet piku which is more commercial n a better film only opened 3 crores higher despite lesser competition and coming 2 years later. interesting.
BV is also targeted at premium multiplexes like Piku but good thing for piku is that it isnt looking like it will be a hit.

when a deepika starrer can cross 11 cr in single day then with so called best movie of year like baby nd gabbar nd having a so called superstar who is called bigger than khans by his fans also is not getting enough to cross 15 cr in single day seriously makes question on your starpower.
