Pics: SRK and Anushka Sharma

Exclusive stills from Yash Chopra’s next featuring Shahrukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. Earlier, Yashraj Films had only released pictures of SRK and Katrina. Today, they also released pictures of Anuskha, who plays the second lead.

With music composed by AR Rahman and lyrics by Gulzar, the film also starring Katrina Kaif as the female lead, is one of the most awaited film of the year. It’s scheduled to release this Diwali with Ajay Devgan’s Son of Sardar.

We really liked Katrina’s look and here we simply love Anushka’s expressions and smile. Have a look!

  • Kareena dances only for Salman

Her last item song may have been the popular ‘Marjani marjani’ in Billu (2009), but Kareena Kapoor has a series of hit songs to her credit, the latest one being ‘Chammak challo’ from RA.One (2011). Now, Kareena, who recently shot for the song ‘Halkat jawani’ in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine, will do no more item tracks… unless they’re for her own film.
But what about the number she is doing for directorproducer Arbaaz Khan’s Dabangg 2? The actor is believed to have agreed to do it only because of Salman Khan. A source close to the actor says, “Kareena and Salman share a great rapport and she really respects him. That’s the only reason she agreed to do this song.”
The source adds, “Kareena is currently shooting for ‘Halkat jawani’. It is a raunchy, masala song. After that she will start shooting the Dabangg 2 song, for which she will don a western avatar. It is going to be scintillating.” Interestingly, this song composed by Sajid-Wajid will have no resemblance to the iconic ‘Munni badnaam hui’.
Despite being the first choice for most item songs, Kareena doesn’t want to do such numbers anymore. The insider says, “She is in no rush to do more item numbers. She wants to concentrate on her films.”
Arbaaz Khan is in Dubai and remained unavailable for comments.

  • Vivek dropped from Sher, thanks to ‘Tiger’ Salman?

It seems the ‘Sher Wars’ have ended way before they could even begin. Yes! We are indeed talking about the respective films signed by Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi. Where earlier it was reported that the two would be at loggerheads professionally since their films ‘Ek tha Tiger’ and ‘Sher’ were to release almost simultaneously. The latest buzz has it that Vivek might be dropped from ‘Sher’ owing to his claims about the film.
Reportedly Vivek’s tall claims that “Sher is bigger than a Tiger” hasn’t gone down too well with Salman Khan and the actor has expressed his disappointment to Sanjay Dutt.
Talking to a daily, a source said, Salman was already unhappy with Sanjay’s film being called Sher, when his brother, Sohail Khan, had announced his own project, Sher Khan, a long time ago. And now, Vivek’s comment has infuriated him further. So, though nothing is official yet, Vivek might be dropped since he hasn’t started shooting for Sher.”
Well, Vivek never learns from his past mistakes. And, this time again his verbatim has earned him the ire of Salman Khan …

  • The Parody King

Finding a die-hard Salman Khan fan — who can ape every move of the actor — is not a big deal. But coming across someone who makes a living off Salman’s popularity certainly is. Meet Sikandar Sanam, an old hand at parody, who has made spoofs of all of Salman’s last few releases — including Wanted, Dabangg and Bodyguard. This Pakistani theatre and film actor is currently waiting for the release of Ek Tha Tiger to start work on it. “In Pakistan, Salman Khan is the most popular actor. Every film of his works here, especially because of the action and comedy involved,” says Sikandar, in a telephonic interview from Karachi.
Ironically, Sikandar is unlike Salman in many ways. While Salman is brawny, Sikandar is skinny. Though he may slip into the popular actor’s shoes every now and then, he claims that he does so only to evoke laughs. “I do not imitate Salman, I only pick his style and add my own humour to it,” he says. Take for instance, the famous scene from Tere Naam where Salman is hit by the villain with an iron rod and is critically injured. In the spoof, Sikandar gets hurt after being hit by balloons.
Sikandar first slipped into a Salman character in 2003 when he donned the Indian superstar’s Tere Naam get-up for a stage show in Karachi. “The standing ovation made me realise that there is a vast market for Bollywood-inspired comedy in Pakistan,” says Sikandar. Soon, he penned the script for Tere Naam’s parody and made a film called Tere Naam 2. “This changed the course of my career,” he recalls.

  • Finally, Tiger Shroff set to make Bollywood debut

Like any newcomer, Tiger Shroff ‘s debut has generated much speculation, but it seems that the newbie’s parents wanted much more than just a big banner for his launch. They wanted someone who could give him a dream debut, and a fabulous flag-off to his career. After deliberating for a while, they’ve finally zeroed in on Sajid Nadiadwala’s next for him. And Tiger finally signed on the dotted line at the producer’s office last week, in the presence of his parents.

Jackie and Ayesha Shroff, as well as Bunty Behl from his talent management firm, were instrumental in making the final choice for the young actor, and the 21-year-old is now busy preparing for the film, to be directed by Sabbir Khan.
Apparently, it took the trio almost two years to finalise Tiger’s debut project, so when he finally completed the signing formalities last week, his parents were visibly emotional. In fact, we heard that Sajid insisted that both Jackie and Ayesha be present, and Jaggu Dada was so excited that he filmed the entire occasion. Ayesha tried hard to fight back tears.
Even though there was news earlier that Aamir Khan would launch Tiger, it seems that Sabbir Khan, who was working on this movie’s script for a while, met the aspiring actor and suggested his name to Nadiadwala. That’s how things fell into place.
When we contacted Sajid, he confirmed the news, saying, “This is the first time I’m launching a hero, and that’s a big responsibility. Even though I’ve launched three directors, when you launch a hero, you are responsible for both the film and the actor.”
On Tiger’s potential, he said, “Right now, he’s very raw. He’s a famous father’s son. I’ve seen Tiger grow as a child… and it’s a high for me because he’s a kid from my own fraternity. We have been working round-the-clock to add as many highs to the script of the film. I am treating this project the same way I would if I were launching my own son.”
Nadiadwala, who will start work on the Salman Khan-starrer Kick by the end of 2012, said that Tiger’s film will also go on floors at the same time. The coming year is big for Nadiadwala as he has big films lined up with major stars. Apart from Salman, there are films with Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor.
